    4 door mopar cars

I've been living here in La Paz, Baja California Sur, Mexico for over a dozen years now. Yesterday I pulled up to a nice '64 Valiant four-door at a stop light. I didn't see any callouts on the front fender so I asked the driver if it was a six cylinder. He rolled down the window and verified it...

    Hugh Hefner's DC-9

Back in the 1980's I flew on a Mexican airline that claimed our flight was taking place in an aircraft previously owned my Hugh Hefner. However, I'm not able to verify the truth of that claim. I just found this article: "Hugh Hefner's Playboy "Big Bunny" private jet was sold in 1975 after six...

1965 ABody Gauge Needles at "Rest" (before cold start)

I have the solid state IVR and the temp gauge is working now but takes a long time to warm up (according to the gauge). The fuel gauge goes full when I ground the wire, but does not move at all when connected. When I get most of the gasoline used up in the tank, I might pull out the...

1965 ABody Gauge Needles at "Rest" (before cold start)

Are my gauge needles too far toward "empty" and "cold" or is that where they stopped when factory fresh? Thank you.

Don't knock it: it was free and it works (leftover box from a 200 pack of "small" trash bags from Sams Club).

Project "Chihuahua" '65 Formula S Restoration "Estilo Mexicano"

The center section was much easier with large slots ready to access the four threaded studs. I used some circular rubber discs on the studs to seal the holes (see photo post #326). I tried not to over-tighten anything. The factory center rubbery gasket against the window is not in the best of...

Project "Chihuahua" '65 Formula S Restoration "Estilo Mexicano"

I used some thin foil with adhesive backing to cover the open spaces under the pair of side pieces for the outside rear window (photos #1 & #2). I could not see myself trying to remove the plastic corner pieces with the two upper screws tucked under the gasket for the glass. So to install the...

I see the factory sealed the large openings in the body under the rear window chrome.

Project "Chihuahua" '65 Formula S Restoration "Estilo Mexicano"

Update: Preparing to install exterior rear window chrome mouldings. Since interior pieces are already in place, it looks to be a challenge. Although the two small pieces that attach directly to the trunk hinges look identical to me, I noticed they are marked right and left and have different...

Project "Chihuahua" '65 Formula S Restoration "Estilo Mexicano"

The holes I marked and drilled to secure the custom stainless steel glove box liner were a little off, but I was able to start all of the screws. No lock feature on this version of glove box door, just opens and closes and has a "cut-out" that would fit a small glass or cup.

The Formula "S" badges still retained their small factory rubber seals so I re-used 'em. At the very bottom of the badge is a very small gap (must be due to the natural curve in the front fender). Those cap nuts take a 7/16" tool, while the cap nuts in previous badges installed in above update...
