CNC Mill Mark Removal in Intake Port

I guess that was the point I'm trying to make, any time we talk about heads, carbs etc.. Hysteric's and others will come in about atomization vaporization etc... But generally people are going by what carb cam heads cr cid etc.. Gonna give me the powerband I want not which one is possibly gonna...

CNC Mill Mark Removal in Intake Port

I understand what your getting at, my point was more towards Hysteric's seemingly obsession nature with atomization, vaporization etc.. Above any other concerns. Which usually leads to everything got to be smaller. My general point is other than a few basic options the average guy doesn't...

CNC Mill Mark Removal in Intake Port

Like there's got to be an atomization range, from what a well tuned average performance engine is, to the bleeding edge of what highly developed multi million dollar race teams are doing vs what an highly competent engine builder can do. And how much R&D would it take to go from what an average...

CNC Mill Mark Removal in Intake Port

I get it's critical, but beyond something being severely off, my point/question is the average well tuned engine out there leaving a lot of easiably gain power just laying in wait? Like how well is the average performance engine handling fuel atomization.

CNC Mill Mark Removal in Intake Port

What I don't get about this obsession of atomization, is how far off optimal atomization is the average build? Is there really a lot of power to be gain in the average built engine, just waiting for the owner to sort it out and can the average builder really do much about it? And if so is it...

    408 Magnum stroker HEAD HELP!

I found out if you handle the duties yourself you can save the brokerage fees a lot of shipping companies charge. But it's a bit of work, calling, faxing, going to closest place you can pay duties probably airport.

    408 Magnum stroker HEAD HELP!

That would be cool, if it gave a decent increase would be an easy mod the average guy could get done.

    408 Magnum stroker HEAD HELP!

I'm definitely no expert but my guess is you'll probably just fall a little short of 500 hp, depends on how important hitting 500 hp is to you ? Is possibly being 25 hp or so short that big of deal to you.

    408 Magnum stroker HEAD HELP!

It's only a problem if your goal was 500 hp and or more. Your gonna need a little more flow and or cam/cr. You probably can pick up some cfm with good valve job and a bit of bowl work and maybe some chamber de shrouding some of the head experts can help you there.

    408 Magnum stroker HEAD HELP!

Most healthy built street engines seem to make around 1.8 - 1.9 hp per cfm at peak cam lift. 2-2.5 is possible.

    408 Magnum stroker HEAD HELP!

That's a 25-35 cfm difference in the meat of the curve .300-.500" probably at least a 50 hp difference on a decent engine. The SM aren't to bad for the level of head they are, like to see more .300" on them though, still probably make a decent 450-475 hp engine depending on the build.

It says the port length for the intake is shorter than exhaust, that doesn't seem right ? 4.50" vs 4.75"

Thinking of switching from M1 single plane to LD340 but LD340 would need to be milled to fit. Is it worth it?

I'd say try it but the only problem I see is you got to mill it to fit.

CNC Mill Mark Removal in Intake Port

I know it's not a cnc head but came across the video thought some might be interested in the results. 14:50 is where he shows the flow chart, recap under .500" there's little/no change above to 1.00" 10-25 cfm gains with 60 grit.

    UTG vs DDG

The only good advice i seen UT give, is you don't necessarily need to modernize you old car to get enjoyment out of it. And you kind of see that here, people buy an old mopar, and want a bit better ride and handling and pep, and go straight for should I swap in full coilover suspension and a gen...

    UTG vs DDG

And I appreciate you for doing so. You do what UT seems to want to do help the little guy with realistic budgets and goals the average guy can accomplish, but he misses the mark with his builds, he's better at UT Story hour, even though I have little interest in that.

    UTG vs DDG

What I assume the big difference from your content to his is you would be doing what your doing basically anyways and just documenting and if it helps and entertains all the better. With Tony most of his projects are for content only purposes only and they got to pay for themselves in views $$$$...

    UTG vs DDG

The projects and the concept behind the project he's picks for his show, definitely ain't doing him any favors, he should of stuck with just bottle rocket, but started off 100% stock and slowly modded it to like a 10's car over the years instead of investing in the horrible projects he has...
