Now that your going I have a question for you or anyone who reads this. I'm having a lot of problems finding a 8.75 rear that fits my 66 barracuda if you or any body else has any leads on one I would like to hear where I can buy one. I will rebuild it so I don't need a new one just one that will...
I'm glade you finally got together with out to much restriction on the header. I guess it's true where there is a will there is a way. BIG THUMBS UP TO YOU. Mike
How do you like the 391 gears? I was thinking of putting them in my 66 barracuda. I have a dyna rear I'm putting in it. I built a 360 magnum motor for it pushing 470 hp. It was a tight fit. Had to go serpentine belt change and a different ps pump.
I spoke with a guy here in pa. Said he had the same problem with his headers . He sent them back to Dougs and they found the pipes where bent wrong and sent him a new set of headers. But they had told him to beat in the headers first. he refused saying at the coast of them was to much to not...
Keep at it sounds like you're on the right track. This is what sucks about being in different states I have a tram gauge to measure all that . Good luck I hope you find a salution soon. Mike

Painting is the least of your problem. Is there any way possible to fasten the bracket with small nuts and bolts or screws. If you can use a nut and bolt I would lock tight it in place. This would avoid messing up the paint. Mike
Thats a good question. I'm not sure where you could look it up. I'll do some research and get back to you. I have some old body and frame measuring books I can look thru. Talk to you soon
It would seem your new shells are 3 years newer and won't work unless you do a lot of relocating of the brackets. I have 40 years in the body and fender field and have seen a lot of this. Some people will tell you what you want to hear and then sell you the wrong stuff anyway just to get rid of...
I bought Doug headers for my 66 barracuda. Paid over 1000.00 for them and had a similar problem. The instructions where not that clear, So I called and asked what I was doing wrong. Turned out I had to cut the headers apart at the flange and the instructions said to do that only if I used...
