    904? 46RH? 727? Opinions?

Since you have 4 wheel drive I would just put another 46RH in it. Spend your $500 and rebuild it some some quality clutches. It should live fine and you won't have to reinvent the wheel trying to get something else to fit. Tom

    Anyone done a strong 400 build ?

Using a 4.25" stroke crankshaft in a 400 block is really all the stroke you can, or should put in a 400 block. You just run out of available compression height for the piston with any more stroke at a 9.800 deck height. With a 4.375" bore that will yield 511 cubic inches. I don't know why...

    Argent Silver paint

Personally I use: VHT SP188 Ford Argent Silver Wheel Paint Can - 11 oz. I would post the Amazon link, but this forum will delete it. Just copy and paste the description in the search. I used this for years on dozens of wheels. Much better than previously mentioned products. Tom

Short Shaft Slip Yoke 727's in Old Airport Tugs?

Do tell I would be very interested in that if you still have it around. No, and thanks, but that's not the type of setup I am after. It has to be a factory built short tail housing with a slip yoke. That way I can still have a governor and a parking paw on the output shaft over using the A&A...

OEM 351 Windsor block is 9.500" That is incorrect. OEM 351 Cleveland block has a 9.200" deck height OEM 351 Windsor bock has a 9.500" deck height However the hot setup is buying an aftermarket Windsor block with the 9.20" deck height and 302 mains if you want to race. Tom

What dashboard gauges are most useful for a slant?

For a Slant 6 I think a boost gauge would be the most important. LOL Oil and Water for sure. Tom

Builders: Square engine, Over Square, or Under Square for you?

Everytime an NHRA Pro Stock engine had the deck height lowered a .100" they picked up 15 HP. Now Pro Stock deck heights are down to as low as 8.600" It's not a secret that lower deck heights allow for more horsepower to be made. Tom

Builders: Square engine, Over Square, or Under Square for you?

A normally aspirated engine will always prefer a bigger bore to allow larger valves to move more air. Higher rpm racing engine you would want way over square 4.375" or 3.91" stroke. Heads up you're going to need it still pulling at 7500 rpms without running out of head. Depending on the level...

Short Shaft Slip Yoke 727's in Old Airport Tugs?

Those always have a yoke that bolts on to the tailshaft with a bolt, not a slip yoke like a regular car transmission has. I guess I can always buy an A&A kit if I really want a short transmission, but I think those delete the governor. Then you have to manually shift gears. The tugs would have...

Short Shaft Slip Yoke 727's in Old Airport Tugs?

I was talking with a friend tonight and he was telling me a story I wonder about. He claims that years ago he got some short 727's that had slip yokes, not bolt on yokes used in the tugs at airports that tow the planes around. I've personally never heard or seen one. What say you all? Tom
