I bent up some coat hangers for the rough shape I needed, went to O’Reilly and explained to mgr I needed to look at all their hoses, bought several and returned what I didn’t use.... corrugated steel or rubber hoses don’t work very well imo....

Guess all of the cars that run cooler after installing a restrictor when they didn't have a thermostat in them didn't go to school................

Drove my car to a show Sat and coming home in 100 degree heat in stop and go traffic it never got over 190........the shroud made a difference for sure.

The newest version of these is not supposed to droop anymore...I bought mine over a year ago, tried to put it on last summer and it didn't fit correctly so I let it sit until this summer.....You are right about the $$ for these things.....

I finally installed my repop shroud along with many other small updates. Typical problems surfaced. I had to drill new holes in the radiator to mount the shroud. I had good clearance from the shroud to the fan except at the top. There was not enough room for the fan and the shroud to fit below...

Plastic tanks can last a long time but I have seen them crack.....

You will probably have to destroy that press washer to get the cage off. Wiggle the cage off and steel wool the shaft, it will slide right back on. Lowes, Home Depot or a good hardware store will have new washers. I bought a bunch of different sizes when I found them as they were cheap.

Is anybody on here running a fan clutch on a big block? From my research on here it appears the Hayden 2765 wont fit my 383 Duster as I measure about 2 3/4 inches from the water pump flange to the radiator, the same dimension as the Hayden clutch leaving me no room. I really don't want to go...

1968FormulaS340 is right on the money....the distance makes no difference if you have a shroud. If you do not have a shroud I don't know what a good distance should be.

I would like to buy the rubber seal that goes on the bottom of the hood and seals to the top of the radiator core support when the hood is closed...I did a few searches and could not find the info. Does anybody know who repops this piece of rubber?? thanks in advance

I know this is an old thread...........but, how did the Benz fan work out?

I just got mine in from Hoovers (according to my SO)....I am working in Lawton, Ok and as soon as I get home will be installing it. Summer in TX is HOT. Sounds like I will find out pretty quick if I got a good one or not.
