    Nicks Garage 383 build

I'm with RAMM on the 383, never seen one that was very impressive. Years ago, I had a 71 RR with a tired 383. Being poor I did a stock rebuild, it was still a pig. Within a year I found a 67 440 out an IL state police car. I did the same poor boy rebuild, new valve job, hone, new rings, bearings...

Harmonic balancer tightening (crank bolt) engine in car with 4spd manual transmission

I’ve built several and never seen any pins. I always tighten the timing cover bolts after the damper is on.

    Any benefit to 10” wheel?

I have a buddy that runs a turbo car down into the 4.50’s on a 275, he runs a 12” wheel. I have them on a 10” wheel on my Dart.

Solid rollers with off set push rod hole issue.

When I was in the planning stages of building my 434 in one of our conversations Brett told me not to run an offset seat roller lifter. I didn't ask why and took his advice.

    Headers

I had my Hedmans coated about 12 years ago, would do it again if I needed headers. It definitely cuts down on under hood temps.

    1 3/4" Headers Verses 1 7/8" on a Healthy 408....Is There a Big Difference??

I'd change them. I'm running the same 1 7/8" Hedmans on my 434 that I ran on my 408. They have 3 1/2" collectors and 3" exhaust to turn downs at the axle. My 408 didn't want for low end, 4.10 gears.

    More nonsense from NHRA Tech

Actually, Michael Waltrip had the lead, Jr finished second.

One from the past. Brown Sugar

I'd like to see how much money he won with that car. Pretty sure he built a 62 after the Brown Sugar crash, it was called Shewanda.

speedmaster stuff pulled from Summit racing shelves

I don't think there is a member who think Edelbrock reinvented anything. Their head was sold as a direct replacement for a stock head, that'd be hard to do if you moved the rockers, changed exhaust & intake bolt pattern and port locations. They did make improvements though, smaller stem valves...
