I had a similar issue with my 408 last summer. Checked the carbs (I have a six pack) Timing etc. ended up being a ignition module mopar performance orange box. and rewired for a single ballast. I added a 10inch fan on top of an external trans cooler witch cooled it down alot .I live near Vegas...
