So let’s say I’m racing the 1/4 mile. I’d normally be shifting to 3rd at the 1/8 mile. Now let’s say I’m racing the 1/4 but starting off in 2nd gear. I’d still be shifting into 3rd around the 1/8th mile, effectively running out of gear well before the 1/4..... I guess running 6PSI of boost and...

Cause I’d be in “direct” drive 6 seconds earlier than I’d normally be.....

On poorly prepped tracks where I was traction limited, I’d start in 2nd gear. I’d ET around the same time but would be reving real high as I crossed the traps. 727 RMVB with a TB and 3:55 gears. Trans heat was never an issue for me but I wasn’t one to “hot lap” either. Lol

Hmm, perhaps mill the starters mounting face (mating surface) the same thickness as your midplate? This will position the nose properly. I don’t know if that will leave enough meat on the starter for retention.

Well KK brought up head gaskets..... That seems to be the weak link on a SB Mopar engine.

Hmm, carbs are rich? Not enough port velocity in the heads? Too large of a plenum? Carb spacers too large? Not enough load or RPM’s to open doors? Replace the plenum with this, add a blower and over come any issues listed above.... lol Blow the doors off your competition. Pun intended. ;)

I agree with YR... But at your nitrous level, I really wouldn’t worry about it as your 90* fittings aren’t on the fuel side... If you want to do something nice use the pictured items and fab up some nice lines....
