    Lifter failure

I have only broken in one FT cam, that was last summer. I did the lube, comp breakin oil, and then made every mistake possible and it survived. Started and stopped the engine no less than 8 times due to various reasons that I had no choice on. Then finally the 20 mins at 2-3K. Made me a...

    Lifter failure

You would be shocked at the amount of people with FT cams run regular conventional or synthetic oil after a correct break in and wonder why their cam turned into a broomstick. Have a buddy flatten two cams on a chebbie 350 that way, and absolutely will not believe its the oil he was using.

A body big block back to small block

Small block might be fun, but Sunday I was driving down a street with newer concrete in second doing about 30MPH. I hammered down and got thrown back, while spinning and a little sideways. Some small blocks might be able to do that, but I can tell you that smile lasted for hours

A body big block back to small block

Fair points… I would say that the seat in the pants is not the same but the rest is hard to argue

A body big block back to small block

I'll bite.... What is the reason you are against these swaps? My 440 has aluminum heads, intake, water pump and housing and I would bet good money (by that I mean US dollars lol) that my car is as light as it was when it had the all cast iron 340 in it. yes yes of course if you went with...

    Lifter failure

For my 440, I bought a comp cams FT cam (recently made, not old gold), but I bought a set of Johnson Cam Saver lifters from Crower. I used Comp break in oil, and have since been running Brad Penn zinc oil, 10W40 (bearings were a little looser than i expected when i plasti gaged). Break in...

Malwood underdash hydraulic kit for A-Bodies

Mine goes almost the floor but still hits the built in stop just before. I clocked mine to sit lower (Ross will tell you options when you call for tech support on silly things like I did) as my brake pedal is set lower due to limited rod length (story of my life). If installed in stock...

Malwood underdash hydraulic kit for A-Bodies

buy the pedal right from malwood, and buy their bearing. It has the bleeder where it should be, better bearing in general. Malwoodusa I think is the website. I’ll take pics of the whole thing tomorrow

    When is it whining?

Seems to me whoever the builder is, is also a member of this site and a viewer of this thread. There are no coincidences in this hobby....

    When is it whining?

Sounds like your builder is waiting for a suitable core to build, which would be very unpredictable

    Z Bar

Is it a budget issue or originality issue sticking with Z bar? I cannot say enough about how pleased I am with the Malwood underdash pedal system. If you buy the pedal and a Ram mopar hydraulic bearing its under $1,000 which is a big bite but well worth it. Anyway for what its worth...
