    Small block w/ 3.79 crank

Am I reading it right? A 3.79 crank with a stock length rod uses a stock piston?

    Small block w/ 3.79 crank

Just what I figured. I’ll hit up the local machinists and see if they want to buy them. It’s a SB Chevy journal which is a big market. When the timing is right I’ll just get a complete rotating assembly.

Shocks: looking for Blistein quality at KYB price.

They quit equipping new cars with bias ply in 75. I figure they rode on new radials and smaller bars for the 75 MY. They probably realized that they needed a bigger bar for radials and came out with the .85 in ‘76. Is this plausible, @junkyardhero ? I’m hypothesizing the increase in bar sizes...

Shocks: looking for Blistein quality at KYB price.

I will report back with some results pertinent to this topic soon. I have a '73 Duster 340 in the air right now. Starting out on the fresh total restoration (3,800 miles) it had the KYB's, 1.03" bars, and stock pencil thin sway bar. I was initially just installing Doctor Diffs Cordoba brakes and...

    Small block w/ 3.79 crank

@ValiantS @tvt59 @TT5.9mag I, like @mopardude318 , am putting together a 3.79 piece meal. After seeing the longer rods in question it makes me wonder if I put the cart ahead of the horse on one of my purchases, rods. And, I'm only two components deep into my parts collecting! I have a virgin...

I’ve lifted small blocks with plates but I like to use one of these now. For one, it’s easy to change the angle with the hand crank. JEGS 80048: Engine Load Leveler [1,250 lb.] - JEGS $40

Brand new QA1 front suspension and still have steering wheel play?

I agree, BUT, the Borgeson box IS really good. Maybe I just don't notice a center dead spot on it (at all) because of the memory of how bad a stock box is. Seems like I turn and it goes.

Inspect for cracks on the K-frame where the box mounts. Look at it while someone turns the wheel R and L.

    Mopars on the Mother Road??

I would be down for the western leg. Also which direction? I have a lot of ties to SoCal but I grew up and now live (again) just a few miles from Rt 66 in Oklahoma. I’m installing a 2.76 so my car would be great for it. I could even sleep in the Space Duster! Here’s a better idea. Southern...

Alternative to Bright Dip Anodizing Trim

?? I hope it’s not a stupid question but could you just put a polishing wheel on a bench grinder? Is that too fast or slow? I’m confused on why there are bench grinders and bench polishers. They seem the same to me except the wheels.

I’m sure this has been posted somewhere before but I just bought an upgraded bolt that IS the correct length. I’ve read Mancini’s bolt is a tad too long and the head is not the same size as the crummy oe bolt. Fast Fish Auto from Kannapolis, NC makes these. He may even be a member here. Small...

I have a NOS Magnum bare block with dealer stickers still on it. Someday I want to build it and, while years away, I routinely think about the direction the build should go. Radiator Suggestions

I too went with the 26”. Even if you have the small opening I would go with 26” anyway. My car is a 340/A833 so it has the big opening. I believe most manual V8’s, A/C cars, and /6 manual had the big openings. That’s not gospel truth but I think there was a hierarchy like that.
