msd blaster 2 coil mysteriously started to leak oil?17dartandbroke 09-18-2004, 03:25 PM do i have to replace it now? any reasons that it would do this without it being messed with. AdamR 09-18-2004, 03:26 PM I would replace it. I had one do the samething. onehellofadart 09-18-2004, 04:21 PM Was it mounted horizontal or vertical ? Anyway replace it with the marine one. Same coil except filled with epoxy, can't , won't leak. Also withstands high vibration. It can be mounted in any possition 17dartandbroke 09-18-2004, 06:35 PM it was vertical. i will be getting a marine one soon then. onehellofadart 09-19-2004, 08:10 AM I said marine ,I meant hi vibration. http://www.jegs.com//cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ProductDisplay?prrfnbr=15536&prmenbr=361 cuda66273 09-20-2004, 07:04 AM Coils will leak if they get overheated, it boils the oil and as it expands it will break the seal. So why are you using a High Band coil? Are you running a CD ignition system, like an MSD or Hi-6? 17dartandbroke 09-21-2004, 05:11 PM msd 6al cuda66273 09-21-2004, 05:36 PM They work fine with a CD ignition system. You'll need to replace it I believe they run about $40.00 90 Day Warranty FBO Coil $40.00 2 year warranty :-)) | |||
