Now that I have the Dana installed I want opinion's on tightening the U bolt's. I have them tight now and will drive the car a few miles when the motor is done. Then I will check them again. Should I torque them to a certain spec or just get them as tight as I can?

Bret, the Chrysler Service manual says the rear u bolts should be tightened to 45 ft lbs. Hope this helps...It's suppose to be for the 8 3/4 and 9/3/4 axle rears.

Man that seems light don't it. I can almost do 45 pounds with my finger's LOL. I will drive it a bit and let the axle settle in and then TQ'em to 45.
Thanks

don't get too carried away cause you can dimple the housing. It may not be a problem with the dana though as I believe the tubes are thicker.

That does seem light. I think I would check them a few times just to be sure. At least after each of the first couple of cruises and hard launches.

Remember that your contact area is larger with
the u-bolt. Much larger than say a manifold bolt.
You don't need that much torque. To much and you dimple the tube too.
