Another Ebay Turbo set up, right on!

You are obviously not new to the Boost game and you are choosing to use these turbo's also sold off ebay, I noticed that they cost about $480.00 or so each. They are alot bigger than the GT45 Ebay turbo's I am using on my build.

If you can go 140MPH in the eighth with them Damn man that is frickin FASTTTTT!!

Keep us all posted with your progress. And yes your E Body has more room than My A body for plumbing! LUCKY............

Seeing a chevy engine in a Mopar is sickening.

Here's a better shot of the Indy intake with my homemade 3.5" to 3" aluminum 90 cut off an old diesel turbo and 75mm TB...old intake was 340 victor with homemade fuel rails...

Will be going to a buddies who owns local LS1 shop that has a mustang dyno...and I will be doing the tuning myself.

Will be able to do load testing and numerous conditions on his dyno so I can really tweak....can't wait.....

bout time to get outside and tinker...glad we had an extra hour added last night, I sure was wore out.

That would be nice to see how you have it all set up............

" Do you dump your wastegates to atmosphere or back to the Turbo Exhaust out? "

Someone was telling me that they are CRAZY LOUD if they go to atmosphere and are not tied back into the Turbo exhaust out?

I am going to Autozone today to check out the wrap for my TT set up!

Thanks

I have seen alot of guys running them to atmosphere is why I am asking. For a Street Strip deal the norm from what I have studied is to tie it back in. Guys say on the street they get SICK of the sound under normal street driving. 7-8 SECONDS at a time would be no big deal I would think..........

The wastegates are bled strainght to atmosphere....and yes they are loud usually...may do something about it later....got to see if the 38's are going to regulate boost down low enough for me 1st.

So you bought it un-assembled? Which vendor did you buy it from?
I found one that sells it un-assembled for $247.00
How much time will it take you to assemble it??

Here is the one I found. Is it the same one??

Looking really good! I see you used a different style Map sensor than the one DIY sells. Are you getting all the tips and tricks on how to wire this stuff in from Matt or are you figuring it out on your own?

turbocuda
12-17-2010, 04:26 PM
I already had the 3 bar from before....I also had installed the 21psi unit onto the board, which was pretty nifty how it went together.....I just cut the prongs, unbolted and unsoldered it.
The 3 bar uses 3 wires just as the 21 psi unit so I just solderd the wires directly to the board and ran the wires out the tubing hole...just going to mount the map sensor beside the MS2...found the wiring diagram for the 3 bar in the online megamanual.

Sorry for the long hiatus....slowly been working on the car and finally got it up and running with the squirt and was able to get it to the dyno....was fighting a breakup but after about 6 hours on the dyno we found the culprit....the MSD distributor cap.....

Got some good tuning done and made some headway with power.....

I was on a friends Mustang Dyno (which is usually about 10-15% lower than a dynojet, atleast when loaded)

at 10psi the car made 710hp at the tires at 6100rpms unloaded ,670 loaded)
at 17 psi it made made 846 hp loaded
at 22psi made 980 loaded at 6500rpms and 900 torque at 5200

damn if the boost don't come on hard and fast, especially with the higher boost

was running possible winter blend of e-85 so we did not push it any harder....

probably going back in a few weeks once I get the car on the street to do some further tuning and crack 4-digits.

Glad to hear that you got the MS working good.
Did you log any of your Intake Air Temps? Just curious.
Do you think when using e85 that a squirt of meth injection would help keeping the Intake Charge any cooler?

turbocuda
04-08-2011, 10:33 PM
didn't really pay attention to air temps....probably was stupid of me to not datalog when I could have so easily....maybe in a few weeks I can remember to use that so important tool....meth would probably help, but I have a halfway decent liquid to air setup....
