Any sure fire way?

Is there any sure fire way to tell if a sure grip is still operating properly when it is not in the car? I know to spin the yoke and both hubs should spin the same direction but other than that I don't know of any way to tell.

you didnt say that got to the tech Files I got adam to post a good article on the 8 3/4 sure grip. Im not sure but on the locker style with the clutches you can look and see if the clutches are bottomed out against the case on the come style i dont know??
