727 transmission

Have a 727 auto tranny thats in pieces.
Where can i get info on how to put together and bolt up to
a 340. Am familier with standard stuff but not automatic.
Have all these funny looking pieces(something called a flexplate etc.)
How does all this stuff work.
Any info would be helpfull.

CRT transmissions has a good book on 727s that should help. First Id make sure it a small block 727 and not a big block one.

They are scary to think about how they work, but once you get a good manual and tear into it, they are pretty simple to work on. I put a big block in my Trailduster and knew I'd have trouble finding a 4x4 BB Tranny, so I took the best parts out of the two I had & made one. After 7 years it's still running strong.
