Installing Motor

Have automatic tranny bolted to my 340 and a new set of
hookers to go.
What is the easiest way of installing this setup.
When i look at the engine bay it looks like this will not
fit. I dont think the headers will go in after the engine and
it looks to tight to put in with headers on.
Should i leave tranny on or install after.
Any suggestions.

Forgot to mention that the install is into a 68 barracuda

How about putting the headers in the engine compartment and tying them to the inner wheelwells close to their final position
then drop in the motor

sounds like the easiest way to me

That is the way I have been doing it for 20 years.

You need to disconnect the drivers side tierods to get that header in place.

I did it a little differently. I did put the headers in the engine bay first. But instead of taking the tie rods off, I took my cut off wheel and split the flange. With a little prying they popped right over. And no leaks at the flange gasket.
