If I remember right the Dynamat weighed about 40-45 lbs, used enough to cover the floor. (1 box). They must use like 3-4 boxes on Overhaulin..lol

Yes, entire Cage built by me. Except for the tubing bends, bought it from the vendor like that. Measurements, cutting to legnth and grinding to fit, welding it in... was all me, a $20 angle grinder from Harbour Freight, I'll guess 40 hrs of work and several cases of beer .

It's a 360/904 combo in a 73 Duster. Couldn't tell ya what the cam specs are. I bought the engine used and never asked what the actual cam was, I was too busy grinning after hearing it run. LOL It's a pretty wild cam since it will only idle at 900-1000. I'll post more pics n vids soon.

GREAT COLOR ! I came *this close* to painting my car Lemans Sunset, which is Nissans pearl orange used on the new 350-Z's, Maxima's, and Murano's. And the detail and work you've done is impressive too! I'm going to go visit mine sometime today... you've got me pumped!

And as for the Dyna-mat, how many square feet did it take to do your car? I have to get some before I do anything on my car when I get it back and was wondering if 50 square feet is enough for the floor & firewall.

Eric_S68

John, I used 1 box of dynamat (think 36 sqft) to do just the floor and about 1/3 the way up the firewall. I still may get a second box to do the roof area. I'll see how hot the car gets inside .

ValiantMike
02-18-2007, 01:47 PM
Eric, did you get the Dynamat at Hot Rod Stuff up in Melbourne, or somewhere else. Do you recall the price for a box? I just did my floorpans and would like to add some before I button up the interior. Mike

Eric_S68
02-18-2007, 07:56 PM
Mike, I bought the dynamat thru their website. I used the xtreme which they show for $270 a box. Somehow I remember it being cheaper it's been like 6 mos since I bought it.

Awesome Job Eric it's definately ROCKIN' now, I'm definately envious. What flowmasters are you running the Super 40 series. When you referenced the swing out kits for your roll cage is this for the side bars to be able to swing out. I have seen them before and was wondering how that works and what has to be done?

I'm not quite sure what flowmasters they are, got em used with the donor car.

Yes, side bars will be hinged. (swing out) If I install the side bars at all. They really make it a pain to get into the car. Hinged or not. I'm gonna see what it runs before I am required to put em in to run.

Coolio. Yea I would advance the accelerator pump one notch. Check the pump clearance as well. You can check it witht he car not running as well. Look down the carb, give it just the slightest tweak in the throttle arm. you should see instant fuel shot, If not adjust it. Since you have a decent cam in that engine, you have low vacuum at idle and soon as you crack the throttle blades you need the extra fuel. let me know how you make out and if you need any fine tunning help for that instant crisp throttle responce. I am not a neophite at setting them up. Even fuel injection I can set up mechaincal or electronic. If you listen to my car at launch, that is what you want to hear. That Instant whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. LOL or how ever you want to make the sound :)
Your does look awesome. let me know if you ever make it out to Moroso.

Dtk Thanks!, I looked at it, Seemed to be doin just what ya said, (I could move the throttle without pump kickin) Moved screw to #2 position. Seems better now, ill start it in the morning see what happens.

Moroso.. Love to get their oneday. Do you know any of the Chassis Engineering people in Rivera Beach? I Bought my cage from them, I'm pretty sure that's their "Home" track too.

The closest track to me is Bithlo. Orlando Speed World.
