STUPID QUESTION!!!!

if a motor runs LEAN and always leans the plugs out,would it cause the motor to run HOT??...like temps in the low 200's

Yes it makes an engine run hot...can't explain it but I once burnt my fingers on a wing nut of a friends 383 that was running WAY too lean.

Yes LEAN can be very MEAN. Watched my Harley pipes turn blue going around the block once! Another block I would have probably fried a piston, valves or both.

Yup. My 70 Cuda was running lean and always ran about 210. Jetting up helped a bit. then I decided to try some Cam2 (was pinning also) Temp dropped down to around 195.

What distr are you running. Mine did the same thing untill
I replaced the MP performance distrib with a MSD.

i have a STOCK MP dist. with the weights welded.

Without a doubt, running lean causes heat. Fuel cools the combustion temperatures by diluting the air intake charge.
