2 questions about engine placement (B engine)

OK....I have issues with my engine placement...i have NO idea if it's close to where it should be for conversion mounts and/or headers......also deals with my steering column....
FIRST: in the first picture, it shows the oil pump relationship to the K-member....is it right for the conversion mounts?

SECOND: Is the first location picture close enough for headers to fit properly? Also, as shown in the second picture, the steering column is a power steering, floor shift column to a manual box connected by a homemade coupler. Will headers (if they fit with the fore/aft position of the engine) go around this?

Dunno if this will help, but go to the TTI header site, they have a list of measurements of both small and big block engine placement. Good luck!

all they had was height and left-right....no forward/aft

Its comman to have to notch the K-frame for clearance of the iol pump.

Just lineup your transmission to your tranny mount while supporting the motor then use the other measurements to get the block in the right position. Just make sure you Don't tighten the trans bolts then try to move the engine around, or something bad may happen.....
You also might want to get your headers and then trial fit them when you find your motor position, just to make sure everything fits fine before you make your motor mounts.

oh, ok.....the tranny mount is connected, so i assume that everything is in the right place.....
and i checked the height, and it may be 1/4-1/2" higher than the measured height on TTI's site....probably ok, but i just eyeballed the height, so it could actually be right on

does your steering column sleeve come out as far?
or do all manual steering cars have a short sleeve?

How hard is it to steer it with the 440...i'm going bigblock in my demon and its giong to be a street strip car and i was thinking about going manual steering..but don't know if i want to fight steering it all the time..
