seems that i have blown my torq converter or my tranny in my dart. It has a major whine when you put it in gear. I have a buddy who offered up a good 727 out of a truck for the best price FREE :D :D :D What would I need to pop this puppy in replace of the classic 904.

I've got a 904 and 727 side by side and the 727 is longer. I think the 727 was out of a B-body.
Looked in the Mopar Chassis manual 8th edition, pg.48 figure 4-1. It says 727 is 34.39 inches long from front to tail housing end. The 904 is 30.50 inches. it also says SPECIAL NOTE There is a short extension for the A727 used in certain truck models. Are you lucky enough to get the short one and it be the same as 904? I hope it's like fastbackcuda says, that would be great. good luck. Ray

The 727 is longer so you will need a new driveshaft, even if you get the short shaft 727 like Ray described the yokes are different. The 727 uses the same yoke as the 833 and uses the 7290 u-joint.

good call Craig , I have an extra yoke for a 833 so maybe that will cover down. I hope the 904 is good and its just the converter. Im going to pull it as soon as i get the time and have the converter checked.
thanks Guys
