AdamR 05-29-2004, 08:44 PM Anyone run one in a small block ? How do you like it ?
I saw a 71 Cuda at the car show tonight running one. Thats one nasty sounding stick  :D
mikesduster 05-29-2004, 10:01 PM OOOOOHHHHHHHHH...i thought you were up to something!!!
my dad has used around 4-5 in his 440 motors and LOVES them!!!
maybe the weekend of july 4th ill trailer my car down!!!
AdamR 05-30-2004, 07:01 AM I wish I was up to something. It will be along time before I get that far in to the motor
You should try that cam in your car and let me know how it works.
mikesduster 05-30-2004, 07:23 PM was thinking about it
THEWHITEZOMBIE 05-30-2004, 07:32 PM DO IT thats the size i wanted for my next motor!
AdamR 05-30-2004, 08:24 PM Well if you guys dont try it I think I will when I do my 340 over.
HawaiiDuster 05-30-2004, 09:10 PM I was just looking at the specs of that cam  312 dur .590 lift 4000-7500 rpm range. I think I could swing it with my 4200 convertor, but I would definately need more compression. I had the one right below it, 296 dur .557 lift, but didn't run it because I felt it needed more compression than I had to run right.
mikesduster 05-30-2004, 09:57 PM i was thinking of the .557 too!!....i heard the .528 is a good cam too.
how much comp. you running??
ProStreetFm3 05-30-2004, 09:58 PM Have that stick in my car and have had it in 3 other small blocks. I love it. Sounds AWESOME thru 4" exhaust.
HawaiiDuster 05-30-2004, 10:03 PM i was thinking of the .557 too!!....i heard the .528 is a good cam too.
how much comp. you running??
With the heads I have about 9.5, I would like to run about 11.5 or 12 with a cam that has alot of duration.
mikesduster 05-30-2004, 10:04 PM i have 11.2:1 comp.
ProStreetFm3 05-30-2004, 10:19 PM how much comp. you running??
13.5 to1
mikesduster 05-30-2004, 10:22 PM hey dale,
whats that duster run??
HawaiiDuster 05-30-2004, 10:22 PM Now I'm gonna want to buy some pistons and build my spare 340 block. Thats the only problem I have with this site, makes me wanna build more stuff
ProStreetFm3 05-31-2004, 12:01 AM hey dale,
whats that duster run??
No idea yet  but will know very soon.
Dale
AdamR 05-31-2004, 06:46 AM The cams duration @ .050" is 265 degrees. Its also on a very tight 106 LSA wich makes it even hairier sounding.
The good thing about the tight lsa is it will add some much needed torque to it. The bad thing is that much LSA doesnt care for restrictive exhaust systems.
Good thing I have 3" :D
mikesduster 05-31-2004, 09:37 AM yeah...ME TOO!!!
dale...whatcha THINK it will run??
ProStreetFm3 05-31-2004, 10:29 AM yeah...ME TOO!!!
dale...whatcha THINK it will run??
It BETTER go low 10's or I am starting over.
Everybody that has riden in it says it should But everything seems fast on the street. It went 11:50s before the chassis on Bfgs thru the exhaust but I have changed a few things since then  SO.....

ProStreetFm3 05-31-2004, 06:48 PM is that what it looked like before the PINK??
Yep but it is an Original Fm3 Car. I was too cool in high school to drive a pink car. Now I am MARRIED so it is O.K.
AdamR 05-31-2004, 06:57 PM Nothing wrong with a pink mopar. My 70 Cuda was FM3.

LAR_414 06-02-2004, 09:46 AM Love that FM3! Just checked out your site and that is a great set up. Your car is extreemely nice and you should be proud.
Are you planning on racing it?
ProStreetFm3 06-02-2004, 08:59 PM Right back at ya Lar414 I have your spread cutout and on my garage wall it's one of my favorite Darts. Yes I plan on racing it I just am insanely busy right now my 9yr old plays every sport possible and also has a Jr Dragster so I am just happy to take it for a cruise once in awhile. Thanks again for the comps.
Dale
Cuda66 06-02-2004, 09:08 PM Better watch out, Your 9 year old is going to be wanting to take that off your hands before you know it!
ProStreetDuster 06-02-2004, 09:50 PM Yea Fm3, your cars pics have been used as my screen saver more than any other Duster, Your car just ROCKS!
I can relate to the kid thing, I got two, a boy 14 and a half and a girl 13, and I just shelled out cash for football and cheerleading, and the dirt bikes need a few things LOL, oh well I didn't want to spend that on the car anyway..... heh
Kilrcuda 06-03-2004, 07:33 AM Fastbackcuda, Thanks for the compliment on the car. I'm the guy with the blue 71 cuda from marcus. I just joined your sight; well after we talked on Saturday. Question? You had the pink cuda with the black hood scoop that was just sold? If so I was the guy who sent you the email wanting to buy the hood......small world. My motor has the .590 cam with 12.5:1 pistons 2.02 X heads.
AdamR 06-03-2004, 04:35 PM Yup that was my car. It was shipped out to Florida and then sent over to Aruba. I miss it but what are you gonna do.
Your car has got to be the nastiest sound thing Ive heard.
Hope to see you again.
mikesduster 06-03-2004, 08:19 PM lets see some pics of that 71!!!!
AdamR 06-03-2004, 08:22 PM Mike if he doesnt have any I'll bring my camera to Marcus and get a few to post. Its nice B5 blue, black interior, Centerline auto drags. Very clean. But you got to hear it

mikesduster 06-03-2004, 08:36 PM 1ST...i cant afford a new cam,pushrods,springs and rockers
2nd...i cant get THIS combo running right!!!
AdamR 06-03-2004, 08:37 PM Thats what I ment. Isnt it 254 @.050"
Thats gotta sound pretty good too.
mikesduster 06-03-2004, 08:48 PM .250/.256@50 and yeah it sounds AWESOME!!!...not like a solid but AWESOME for a hyd.!!!
Kilrcuda 06-04-2004, 07:13 AM I do have a few pictures but nothing good, I will get a better picture and put it up on here. As for Marcus tomorrow is going to rain like crazy so that is out, but I think next week I might go to The Sycamore it is a little closer.
AdamR 06-04-2004, 04:21 PM The sycamore sucks. If you go I bet your back at marcus the next weekend. Unless you like hanging out with 34 ford coupe crowd
mikesduster 06-04-2004, 10:56 PM adam,
you go every saturday??..i want to come in a few weeks!!!
AdamR 06-04-2004, 11:45 PM yup every saterday. I live 2 minutes awat
Leigh 07-04-2004, 10:08 AM I ran one in a 11.5-1 365. It wants alot of converter, and the fuel system had to be richer than any cam I used before for staging driveability. Now that I remember, that cam made me learn how to convert my first 4 corner idle Holley. The .557 grind is a pup, as far as manners, compared to the .590.
By the way, there sure are a ton of nice cars on this site.
ProStreetDuster 07-04-2004, 02:56 PM I'm running the .590 in my 383, just haven't fired it yet  It should work pretty good with the Tunnel Ram, actually wish it was a little bigger, oh well there's always the next motor.
One of my friends had a .557 in his 440 Charger and it scooted pretty good, but he wished he went with the .590
