i think i have some grease for poly bushings and thought it might be good to put on the new rubber shackle bushings to ease installation....
or what about white lithium? i have a tub of that in the garage.....

I just used some PB blaster on them. They slide in pretty easy.

brake fluid works good on rubber as it won't cause it to swell. But it does remove paint. Any petroleum based oil/grease will cause natural rubber to swell. Just stick some oil in your master cylinder and see what happens! don't do it because it will be a costly mistake!
