Need to get new header gaskets for my hooker supercomps. Was told not to use copper because the flange on the supercomps isn't flat and they wont seal with the copper gaskets. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

EvilScamp 02-24-2005, 11:52 PM I have Super-comps on my Scamp and use the copper gaskets at the heads, never had any problems with leaks. I have aluminum at the collectors and never had any leaks there either. :) 71Duster 02-24-2005, 11:57 PM I was leanign towards the coppers but heard because of the square lip on the flange that it didnt do nice thigns to the copper but guess I'll try and see. Still trying to figure why they didnt make the flanges flush FASTBACK340 02-26-2005, 07:49 AM I have a set of soft aluminum gaskets on my super comps and they leaked.... Another $35 wasted. I'm going to try the copper gaskets the next go-around, along with cutting the flanges free from each other so the end tubes are seperate from the center tubes. This along with locking header bolts. If all else fails, I'll MIG weld the damn things on.... :x | |||
