leaf spring woes...now that it's all apart

well....got the woman out there tonight recoating my wheelwells while I messed with the stock springs...
my initial thoughts were to take them apart, blast them, repaint them, put in new rub pads, and clamp the front segments

they are 5-leaf with the bottom leaf pointing forward on both of them...i figure they're stock springs, and I like the ride height with them, so i don't really want to go SS, especially since they will tilt the car slightly....

but having the stock springs apart, i'm now kinda dreading all the work for them.......
SO....what about the XHD springs....they sopposedly lift the car 1" equally....anyone using them??

any other thoughts/opinions for me???

it has a 400/.509 purple shaft/torker intake/452 heads/727/B&M holeshot 3000/3.91 suregrip with 275/50 Drag Radials

I had a set made by ESPOS Springs&Things from Pa. The rides about 1-2" higher than stock, but rides NICE & SOLID. When it runs she hooks hard & straight w/o wheel hop. I think they cost me about $150.
