are all of the mopar automatics classified as 'torqueflite' ? i was going over the broadcast sheet for my car and deduced that it has a 'torqueflite' (not sure which one though, prolly 904). but, i also confirmed that it has a 2.45:1 rear end, thus, i cant change the gears without a new 3rd member (so i understand). i found out lots of stuff about my car :)
whats a turnpike package?

Don't know for sure, but I bet the 2.45 gears are a part of it. :)

well, im not sure if theyre part of the package, but that would make sense... i think i read somewhere that in 75 on the 'nicer' valiants they gave them a lower/higher whichever you call it gear to improve mileage. OR it could be part of the weirdo emissions/mileage too...

oh, im sure it has a 904, but why would they denote it in the broadcast sheet as a torqueflite transmission if it were just a generic ol 904?

It was a torqueflite 904 or a torqueflite 727. 340 cars were the only smallblocks to get the 727 with the exception of trucks and maybe the later 360 cars.

360's basically took the place of 340's so most of the options that where true for the 340 where true for the 360.

OH, make an exception to the fact that most 318 squad cars had a 727 trans.

All passenger car automatic transmissions were designated as Torqueflites, like GM had the Turbohydramatic, Chrysler had the Torqueflite, except for some heavier trucks, they had transmissions designated as Loadflites.
