does anyone know the weight of a slant six hemi???73Scamp 03-13-2005, 01:07 AM i would love to find out how much it would cost to ship a slant six hemi to canada just so i can have some fun??? dgc333 03-13-2005, 08:25 AM No such thing as a slant six hemi. There are slant 6 motors and in Australia Chrysler had a six with a hemi head but it wasn't slanted. Don't know the weight of a slant 6 but they are all cast iron so plan on around 400lbs. DodgeFreak 03-13-2005, 09:29 PM Not all slants were cast...we have 6 aluminum slant sixes in our shed and my uncle has 3 at his house. the early 60's slants were aluminum. dgc333 03-14-2005, 07:15 AM You are right but they only made them for a couple of years and are quite rare. Most all of the blocks are unuseable because of errosion along the deck surface plus the special head gaskets have to be custom made. I don't think the over all weight savings was more than 50 or 60 lbs. The heads, intake and manifold was still iron. | |||
