I was wondering if you have time if you could run a few things through for me. I suck at this program. This is what i'm looking for

I need 3 senerios Run. had a long talk with a bunch of people online tonight, and one extrealy knowledgable woman. I need to know whats in my best interest to build

318 = 230hp stock
360 = 200hp stock
340 = 275hp stock

I don't have a 340. so This is what I need to check.

these combo's. if I miss anything, put a part in

1969 318 bored .030
Kieth black flat top pistions
Crane HMV-278-2 NC Cam <attached stats>
Edelbrock Performer Intake manifold
Heads <ported 360 heads>
and also check with
Heads 94 magnum. They are open and have a 1.6 lift with the rockers

I should beable to run these threw alittle later but till then.

The 318 can be made to run. Think of it as a 340 with a smaller bore. The 318 and 340 wont make a ton of torque because of the short 3.31 stroke. They will wont a ton of gear and converter to run best. Im going to be running a 3500 ish stall converter and 3.91 gears and thats still alittle less then it would like.

Small strokes love to rev. You've got a Charger wich is pretty heavey. You need torque.

The 360 has a 3.58" stroke. It will make better torque and would be the way to go. If I had a 360 I build it over my 340 with out a doubt.

With that cam and a good intake/carb and headers theres no reason you couldnt build a good 350 horse and 400 ft lbs of torque street motor cheap.

with the 360
10:1 compression
Magnum heads
Dual plane intake
750 carb
Small tube headers
and your Crane cam

402 horse power @5500 rpms
428 Ft lbs @4500 rpms

Probably closer to 375hp, 400 ft lbs though. Desk top Dyno is always generous.

I can get one for only $150, thats why I'm putting it into the equation. I think it's a worthwild purchase in the long run.

:shock: :shock: I think I overshot my mark :D

Like I said thats probably on the high side.

The Magnum heads flow about 25cfm more at .500" on the intake and 20 @ .500" more on the exhaust.
Plus you get the better chamber.
Id be happy with that much power out of mine with the bigger cam.
