Textured dash paint

 I finally figured a way to get the texture on my 69 Swinger"s dash.

1-pre,then paint dash semi-gloss black.(yes, this is for black dashes)

2-lightly mist on some castblast or equivelant, from about 16-20 inches away.Very lightly with this, you only need a bit.If you put too much on,you can cover it slowly.

3-now,lightly mist on some more semi-gloss black until desired texture is achieved.

I practised on a piece of sheet metal, until I perfected the finish. It's really not that hard to do.The biggest trick,is to use new spray cans,to minimize the chance of spitting.

Does anyone maybe have a better way also?I love to hear about techniques used by enthusiasts to restore their cars.

I find SEM trim black is a great match for the color.

You may also want to pic up one of those spray can triggers. They work well.

Yes Adam. Those triggers work great.Almost make a guy feel professional........almost.

Does your paint have texture to it,or do you have to fog it on?

Take care Bill

Always get my dashes painted in the correct paint with the Suede additive they had as original. I believe my painter get it from REM.
