Ive made some changes to the forum catagories.

Nothing major, but have added some stuff.

If you know of any catagories you think we need to add or change, let me know.

I also need some suggestions for technical forum catagories guys. i.e Body & Painting, Tires and Wheels, Drivetrain, Suspension, etc. Should we list by model? Give me some ideas please guys.

Think as if this forum doubled in size - what would make things easier to find?

No secrets.

I objected to the new "Anti-Adam" forum that he created. ;-)

"objected", "suggested", they mean the same thing, don't they?

I suppose. LOL

LOL

I dont think we should have differant forums for differant models. They are all pretty much the same under the sheet metal and trim.

Bigblockdart.com has a nice set up.

They have:

General
Engine/Fuel/Cooling/Exhaust
Drivetrain/Transmission/Rear Axle

Suspension/Brakes/Steering
Chassis/Engine Fitment
Body/Trim/Paint
Electrical

Thats the right idea - But I think we can do a little better....

good platform to start with though.

Exactly - Now how can we improve?

Only thing I can think of right now is to break down the Electrical into

Engine, Body and Chasis categories.

AdamR

Actually that pretty much covers it.
I cant think of any other way to break it down with out ever part having its own forum.

You could always do sub forums

Like
1. Performance
a. engine
b. fuel
c. cooling
d. exhaust
e. electrical

2. Drivetrain
a. Trans
b. Rear

3. Suspension
a. Brakes
b. Front suspension/steering
c. Rear suspension

4. Body
a. exterior
b. interior

Chassis is kinda the same thing as suspension and body seeing there uni body cars.

I see atleast 3 forums on that site that they could move in to one of the others.

My $0.02... for the technical stuff, keep it to the major catagories like

engine - might have both SB and BB
drivetrain
paint and body
electrical
general maintenance

Then have a general section for off-topic chat, upcoming events, announcements, etc. That should cover most stuff. The regional stuff can get 86'd for all I care. Not too many folks using it. Just don't get too carried away and make a bunch of new forums that nobody uses. You can always add something later if the need comes up, right?

The regional boards get a good amount of traffic actually. I di agree though. I'd like to break up the tech to make it easier to find what your looking for with out ending up with a million differant catagories.

Yea I like the Idea too. I can't tell you the number of times I read something in a thread and go back later to find it and I can't! If we divided it up by category a little I think that will help!

personally i don't like the change... thought it looked better before. i also liked how all the new replies were listed at the top of the page.... this place is starting to look like all the other boards on the net.... as far as different catagories don't make too many different ones because it gets too cluttered. a few sites have done this and it really took away from the site....

my question is if you were going to change everything about the site anyway then why didn't you just make your own from scratch??? i liked adams set up better....
