Main bearing tangs

On the cap side of the main bearings does it matter if the tangs are mated with the block bearings? I cant remember how they came off and my book doesnt say anything. I have installed them mated and the bearing # on the block side and the cap # are installed on the same side which mates up the tangs on the same side.....hope this makes sense to someone....need to know before its buttoned up. This is a 340 with ACLs...not full groove :?

yes, they have to line up or the bearing will seeze.
