It must be nice not to have to put your Mopar in barn from November to April. Of course that does give us a good time to put her up on the blocks for "winter projects". The duster is already off the road for the season and I'm already jonesing.

The main reason I left NJ, was to get out of the snow. But now, with the warmer wheater, year round, it's hard to schedule "downtime". The solution, is to have more then one toy. That way, you still have something to play with, while working on the other. My problem is, I go overboard. I don't have just one or two.

Okay iam moving from indianapolis to ft.myers fla at the end of march. i just got a job with Florida Detroit Diesel-Allison of ft.myers. so i well need to know all the hot spots and my wife and son are coming down after my son gets out of school in may. so i will be thier all by myself. so i can do what i like for a mouth or two. and the duster will be coming in may also. my brother wants me to leave my duster up here with him . no way it will be blown up ran to death, and whatever he can find to do to it. so can some one help me out here??????????????

any of you Flo-Ride-a residents have a decent slant 6 engine with an automatic to help me out? i started my Swinger up today and heard some bearings for a second until the oil caught up with it! it will only get worse and altho i would like to put a different engine in it another SL/6 will go in quickly. i think my tranny is about shot too. makes a great boat anchor!

Hi Guys! I'm living here in sunny Winter Springs! About 45 minutes north of the big mouse. Transplanted from Massachusetts almost 10 years ago. I moved here for better weather and a longer car season.

I bought my '74 Scamp back in Massachusetts in July of 2000 in "beat-up daily driver" condition. I took it all apart in 2003 and had it painted. Put it back together and had it on the road through 2004-2006.

April of 2006 I had a dash fire at the ammeter. :( Last month I pulled it out, started wiring repairs, replaced the fuel tank and sender. I took it out for a ride yesterday, and although it will still need some work, I'm back on the road!

Would love to hook up with like-minded mopar and/or A-body enthusiasts here in the greater Orlando area!

You might try looking at http://72challenger.proboards.com. They are a new group trying to get off of the ground. Mostly MOPAR people and all good people. JR Goodman, owner of the Orange/Black Challenger that Foose built at SEMA, set up the site and loves to go to shows. Really nice guy who loves to show his car.

I took the Demon to Old Town in Kissimmee for a Saturday Night Cruise.....Lots of fun......until we saw the black cloud coming from the west........before we could even react, we heard the thunder and saw flashes.........There we were, stranded at the cruise, and the heaven's opened up.......I have NEVER seen such a storm in my life..........felt like the roof was gonna be crushed by the force of the rain..........After waiting 45 minutes, we had no choice but to drive her out of there......................Sorry ol' girl. She got a real bath goin' home on I-4.

I got the Scamp on the road on the 6th of this month. I wanted to go out for a decent drive, so I decided to drive down to Kissimmee. Turns out, Old Town has started a Wednesday night cruise! There were only a few cars, but we had a great time! Nice luck for our first night out.

The last time I went to Old Town, my '74 was a "Friday night car" and not a "Saturday night car". The cutoff for Saturday night was 1972. Since then they've changed the Saturday night cutoff to '74, I'M IN :)

So that Friday night we went to a local cruise-in with about 25 cars, pretty good. And Saturday we went to Old Town! We found a good spot to park and headed over to Fun Spot next door for a ride on each of the 4 go-kart tracks they have. Way cool 8) We came back and walked the 200 or so cars that were there and got back to the car just in time to get in the cruise.

This is all just about the most fun I can imagine having with my family and my car.

My Scamp is a road warrior. I bought it in 2001 while I was driving a 2000 Stratus that I really liked. I sold the Stratus 6 months later when I realized that the gas in it was 6 months old. Having 2 sets of keys, I chose to drive the Scamp every time.

I lived in Rhode Island then and I drove it back and forth across the country and up and down the east coast several times. It sees rain, snow, mud, whatever the road throws at it. Stuff gets dirty. I clean it. Stuff breaks. I fix it.

Third week of June I'm driving the family from Florida to Massachusetts in it to visit my Dad. The end of July I'm driving it to Missouri to see my buddy graduate from boot camp. In between I'll be driving it everywhere else I go. I wonder what will happen to my '05 Mazda now that I have my Scamp back on the road?

You might want to look at this site. The majority of the members are from central Florida, and while all three manufacturer's muscle cars are found here, they do have breakdowns by groups - i.e. Mopar, FoMoCo, and the Bowtie Boys. The guy that started the site is JR Goodman, owner of the Challenger Foose rebuilt during the SEMA show a few years ago. It's a good group that gets together frequently. Just recently relocated to Central Florida about 6 months ago. I'm in Kissimmee, about 30mins from OldTown.

Would anyone happen to know of any decent salvage yards around here that would specialize or at least have classic cars lying around? I grew up in Maine and was about 10mins away from a salvage yard that's arguably the best in all of New England when it comes to finding parts for classic cars. I kinda took that for granted all those years and now that I don't have it anymore I'm really hoping to find something similar down here in Florida.

He did work for me back in the day (70's). We should get the 440 from him next week; pistons 1/2 weight of stock, all balanced internal,bigger tulips, ported, 9.5 cr, mild cam. He says 500 hp, as he has done them before. We will see.
Ex drag racer, holds 20 national records. Just bring dog bisquits, for his 3 poodles, lol.

Yea DTK, Pipers right down the road from me. Its the largest employer around here. Theres a good Mopar club north of me named 'Mopars of Brevard County'. They have a pretty good Mopar car show and swap meet every year around March in Melbourne. Mike

I've heard good things about Therber Collision on Grissom in Cocoa. I had a buddy of mine get rear ended in his Miata recently and they did a nice job on his car. My buddy is very anal and the only thing he could find to point out was the spacing between the fender and trunk lid was a little more on one side than the other....maybe a millimeter off.

As a bonus, the guy that owns the place is a MOPAR guy

Garth from Cocoa here. Originally from VT, but when the USAF said "you're moving to FL", who was I to complain? I first moved here in '90', built my house in '94', got my orders to CO in '95', Korea in '03' and back here again since 04....glad I kept my house. I am now looking at retirement from the AF around the corner.
