I finally talked my Dad into trading his ol Mercury Montego for a Duster. It is a pretty nice car and runs great. We are going to put a 2bbl on the 225 and were wondering are the heads the same on the 1 and 2bbl motors. Also it had two intakes in the trunk an aluminum 2bbl and an iron 2bbl intake, is one better than the other?

Yes the heads are the same between 1 and 2 bbl motors. If the aluminum 2bbl intake has a welded on top use the iron one. For a year or two they made an alumium 2bbl manifold that was two pieces welded together. They had serious porosity problems (causing vacumm leaks) with these and they stopped using them.

There are after market cast aluminum 2bbl (and I think some from the factory) if that's what you have might as well take advantage of the few pounds weight savings.

The aluminum intake I have is the one you mentioned, we will go with the cast iron one.
