oil pump pickup

I recently had problems with low oil pressure on my 383, replaced the oil pump and still not getting more than 5psi at startup. Was going to check the pickup and screen. Does the motor have to be pulled up to take of the pan?

I removed mine without pulling the motor ( 68 Barracuda 383 ).

did you have to raise the motor off the mounts at all, or is there enough room to drop the pan?
