Truck 440

Is the truck 440 the same block as a car and the 727 trans, Looking to take it out of a truck into a A-body.

The block is the same, and unless it's a 4X4 I think the tranny is the same also.

Depending on the trruck, the oil pan will be different and wont work, and the tranny may have a HD tailhousing..That has the access point for the snap ring in the side, not the bottom, and the thicker housing in that area hits the floor on A bodies. You can pick up a passenger car tail housing, and swap it tho.
