A guy local to me was unfortunate enough to buy a car from the Texas Toybox. They described the car as rust free, or solid texas car, something of that sort but the car turned out to be full of bondo, lie southern Wisconsin rusty instead of Texas solid. Anyone near by them or know anything about them? I'd like to help this guy get some ammo for a case against them, but he's reluctant. I've already e-mailed them and they were not real concerned.
Here is a link to the thread so you guys can see the car and hear his story.
let's get the word out that these guys are crooks.

Sorry to hear about that guys problem.... Never trust the old Texas car thing..... Remember we have a coast and lots of humidity.... Never heard of those crooks before.... I would just put the word out to as many folks as possible..... Good luck...

P.S. Here is a pic of my car that lived in Texas its entire life.... Tell me if its a " Solid Texas car " ????

the word has been out for years. the guy just didn't do his homework well enough.

That business is pretty close to where I live, I know they seem to think very highly of their products and want a shiny new penny for them. As for the quality of their cars, not sure for I haven't seen them. Maybe they try to turn these cars around as fast as they can to get money, yet they don't go through the whole car per say to check for things that aren't necessary to make it move on the road. Sorry to hear about the bad sale of the car though :angry7:

I'm sorry, but a clue would be the fact that nearly every Mopar they have currently listed for sale is a modified car. Incorrect colors, aftermarket wheels, 383 six packs, glas body parts where they don't belong.....

I'm sorry your bud got taken and I hope he can hang these guys. But I'm not sure his eyes were completely open.

That really sucks. Unfortunatly, That happens all the time. When prices shot through the roof on musclecars, some people saw it as an oppertunity to make a quick buck. Take a patched up piece of crap, load it up with bondo, slap a quick paint job on it and dump it to an unsuspecting buyer.

Gotta watch out for the lot in Cleburne Tx.I can't remember the name but he is full of it!

I heard they wont even sell to local people and they wont let you come see the car.

IIRC, there was another post about these guys sometime earlier this year. I think it was a Charger. Sorry to hear your friend got stiffed.

I was up in northern ILL a few years back and visited the Volo Auto Museum. They had some really nice rides there but they were not cheap.

they had a lot off the 610 loop in houston years ago but they went downhill. i didnt know they were still in buisness. never buy a car with out having someone local look at it for you.

Personally, I've NEVER bought a car without looking at it firsthand....your just asking for a good screwing!!!! Used cars are sold as is....let the buyer beware!!!

I didn't realize we were only 10 miles apart. Looking at the pic of that Cuda, did you used to live out on 67 just east of Keen?

Texas toy box sold me a 74 challenger and said it was mint but when I got it and the trunk was completely gone, the rims weren't bolted on-lug bolts were to long, the rear valance fell off the car on my first drive, the exhaust came out of the engine and was not secured anywhere except the manifold which banged under the car, none of the lights worked, no speedometer, trans slips, rear window leaks, windows don't crank correctly. basically a big piece of s@it. Do not buy from Ray at the texas toy box. Bad bad cars at mint car prices. takes distant photos to make them look good
