installing electronic ignition

I am installing new electronic ignition in my 340. ( the little orange box on the firewall) When doing this, do I use an internal resisitor coil or and external resistor coil? thanks

The elctronic ignition is intended to be used with an external (ballast) resistor coil. You can switch to an internal one but you need to be sure the coil will be compatable. Some coils especially the e-core coils will draw to much current and could damage the ecu.
