Anybody in Seattle area?

Is anybody in the Seattle area interested in checking out a car for me? I'm a little scared to ask, I've already had two barracudas sold from underneath me. I live in Montana, so driving out to take a look at it myself is going to take an act of God (or my wife). Thanks Chris

The car is in Woodinville. The car is posted on Seattle's craigslist. http://seattle.craigslist.org/est/cto/1148735439.html She has been very sporadic with her emails, so I don't know exactly where. When she did email me, she said that it has been sitting for years and that the front floor pans have some rust along with the quarters. She is suppose to be sending me some more detailed pics. Thanks Chris

Sorry about the multiple posts, I thought it was my computer messing up. We just updated our systems at work. Everytime I hit "submit reply" my computer would take forever to refresh.

That is a NICE looking car. I'd contact the guy and ask for a lot of pictures before I went too far with it though. Who knows what the underside and floor boards look like. And the interior.

So what do you guys think? Worth $4500 and a road trip to 600+ mile road trip to Seattle.

It looks a lot on the rusty side to me...but I've seen worse go for more. Is there any bondo in it? Has it been wrecked? JR can give you good advice on it.

With out driving out there and looking at it, just from the pics I would say. Slant six, manual drums, crappy interior, the engine bay has been painted black like it was a camaro, they made it look good from the outside but did nothing under the hood and I'm guessing that the suspension needs a total rebuild. Looking at his other pics in photobucket, not to be too judgmental but, he seems like the type that knows little or nothing about cars in the first place other wise he would have worked on his "dream car" instead of letting it sit for the last few years. If it was a V8 car and had some detail to the engine bay I would consider it but I would say pass on this one, that Earl Scheib paint job more than likely is hiding some stuff. It's not worth a 8 1/2 hr drive. I will send you my bill :-D

what JR said. that sucker needs to be blasted and new 1/4s and floors. I would run very fast from that car unless it was in the 3-600 range. even then it might be a little high for all that rust.

How much do you guys "think" it is worth. She maybe open to offers, I haven't called her yet. Or is PASS your final answer. I've been looking for a while and I didn't think the price was that out of wack, or is everybody just asking crazy prices and I've become immune.

yep I would pass it's gonna need both 1/4s pans trunk pans most likely extensions, who knows about the frame rails. The car also needs to be blasted with new suspension and brakes, do you want to keep the slant? the rear? the tranny?
interior?
it all adds up you will be miles ahead finding one in better shape for the same price. I personally wouldn't give more the 300 for it. I am also a body man and I know what it takes to restore a car to decent condition.

now if the plan is to buy it and drive it the way it is I might give up too 1k for it but that still might be more then it's worth.

I would pass. A car with so much visible rust is definitely going to have much more. Frame damage is likely. There have got to be better cars out there...

Thanks for all the input. I'm just inpatient, you guys have now become my voice of reason. If you guys wouldn't mind keeping your eyes open I would appreciate it. I only have about $4000 to $5000 to play with.

Not to be picky, but I am only looking for a 67-69 notchback with buckets (would prefer console, but not a must).

Washington and Oregon cars = Rain which = Rust.

Find a Car in Cali,Ariz,Texas, where it is dry.....

Any reason why your limiting yourself to that perticular 67/69 car ?

I see decent Darts,Dusters,Valiants on Craigslist all the time.
$4500.00 will get you into most.

...but, there are WAY better cars even in Washington and Oregon, especially if you look on the east side of the mountains.
