Early Bell Crank ???dart4forte 02-06-2006, 04:13 PM Anyone know if the bellcrank off the ealy A bodies is the same as the later A bodies? Is the early A body S/6 bellcrank the same as the V8? Thanks '64 Cuda 02-06-2006, 06:15 PM If you're talking about the part in the clutch linkage, I'm pretty sure that the bellcrank (some call it a Z bar) on all of the early A bodies is the same for a six or an 8, 3 speed or 4 speed. The later stuff is different. I swapped a factory aluminum bellhousing & 10 1/2" clutch from a 340 into my '64 V8 Barracuda many years ago. As I recall, we had to cut the Z bar inthe middle & sleeve it with a piece of tubing to make it wider & I think we used the same ball stud on the bellhousing but relocated it by welding some sort of bracket on it. There's probably sombody here who's memory is a little fresher than mine on this stuff though. :shaking2: :burnout: | |||
