khughesprime 03-30-2006, 05:15 PM I guess I'm being bold being a Jr. member and all-but I gotta know how you all feel about station wagons. I gotta admit that I never cared for them until a friend of a friend got a '62 buick special wagon about a year ago. I feel in love with it. (I know, I know not a mopar) I now wish to own an old compact wagon preferring a Dart or even an old Nova. HOWEVER, prices due to both low production and a new found interest makes these wagons hard to find at a decent price. People know it and are parting out these wagons on ebay and such 'cause everyone knows how desireable these parts are. I don't know how long I got to find one in my price range. :wack: SO, do you Love them or Hate them ? :thumblef: PLEASE NO FIGHTING - EVERYONE HAS THE RIGHT TO SPEAK AS WELL AS BE OFFENDED
340mopar 03-30-2006, 05:20 PM I think wagons are cool, I love the new Magnum, which to me is a wagon. Mini-vans were the death to wagons.
briankaplan 03-30-2006, 06:30 PM Wagons are very cool in there own way. To bad they never made a late 60's
and early70's A body wagons. I would love a 68-69 or 70 Valiant wagon.
Could have been a cool ride. Green Duster
64dartwagon 03-30-2006, 06:40 PM I like'm not being the same as everyone else is nice, till I need a wagon related part. I've like wagons for years even before I got this one from a family friend. Limited production dart wagons is the name, find more parts for it if it was a valiant.
Jim Lusk 03-30-2006, 07:18 PM I like big ones like my 69 Polara.
smallblock mopar 03-30-2006, 07:51 PM Had a 76 Volare wagon, and it was a damn fine vehicle. Wish I had a new one.
64dartwagon 03-30-2006, 07:54 PM 78 Volare Wagon it gave it's life for the dart.
dartcuda 03-30-2006, 09:00 PM Not a big wagon fan. Love the new magnum, but still don't know if I would own one. Give me a 2 door hard top any day.,
1966 dart wagon 03-30-2006, 09:05 PM i loved my dart wagon (66) but dang it was so hard to find parts for
khughesprime 03-31-2006, 12:22 AM I also like biguns. :book: Chevrolet: Chevelle, Biscayne. Pontiac Tempest. AMC Matador. Satelite. Ford Woodys are cool. The 50's Corvette concept is probably my favorite (327 V8 fuel injected NICE). There is a GTX custom from a Satelite on ebay right now. I hate cutting stuff up unles it has cancer, but I would kill for a 1970 Challenger wagon. HOWEVER the wagons that give wagons a bad reputation are: Vegas, Pacers, Pintos, LTDs, uuggg. I really don't like Nomads for some reason. Go figure.
mbaird 03-31-2006, 10:43 AM I've always loved wagons. I learned to drive in a 72 monaco brougham w/400.
I've seen some wicked factory wagons, 67 chevy 327 4sp posi ! 64 dodge 426 wedge 4sp! I once went to pull a 383 out of a 69 sport sattelite wagon
and when I popped the hood I noticed someone had put a roadrunner air cleaner on it. then I saw it had the matching carb, Intake and hipo exhaust!!!!
So I checked the VIN and it was a 383 commando car, as well as a heavy duty 727 and 3.23 sure grip.
That was a well spent $100.00, but in hind sight I should have rescued the whole car .
dr.demon 03-31-2006, 11:46 AM They are growing on me, but not my wife she doesnt like the bigger cars, she is afraid she may hit something when trying to park it :sad2: so we opted for the A body Demon instead. Prices for the wagons are still resonable so far :thumblef:
khughesprime 03-31-2006, 12:39 PM I found this on ebay by accident: 1955 Desoto Hemi Wagon near Dallas ebay item # 8051907046 It is NOT distance searchable so MAYBE someone can get a good deal. I don't know anything other than the description but I looked up hemi production and if it is stock hemi then it is the little 291. :salut:
OldVart 03-31-2006, 03:55 PM Like this? 55 Chevy Sedan Delivery under resto in my shop right behind the 66 Vart. :thumblef:
mikedevore 03-31-2006, 04:31 PM always loved the aspen & volare wagons! had a chance to buy a base chrysler wagon once, it even had a radio delete option, the car was perfect. but i couldn't convince the wife it was cooler than her Durango!
moparkink 03-31-2006, 10:43 PM dont mind them at all !had a couples so far:68 belvedere 6passenger slant6 3 on the three(find and grind),76 chrysler town and country 9 passenger(with the rear seat backward and two way tailgate)440 with a 727(of course!)83 aries k woody 5passenger (yep bucket console in a wagon)84 aries k 6 passenger. Currently,i have been trying to save a 73 satelite wagon from the crusher
khughesprime 04-01-2006, 05:26 PM Gotta love them old old panel deliveries. :thumblef: My hats off to anyone trying to save a wagon from the crusher :notworth: Of course cars and crushers don't mix. Maybe a Yugo......heck, even pinto bodies make neat racers
I love wagon's, especially this one:
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c71/Kako18/Dscf0036.jpg
That's mine, i've have own it over 12 years now, it was a total wreck when i bought it...
Wagons have style, good or bad, but wagons have style...
sixpakmopar 04-21-2006, 08:12 PM i got my liscense in my grand pa's 68 wagon. a satellite with 318/parallel parked and did a 3point turn in that beast. got my liscense on the first try. he drove that car 218k and the only repairs were rebuilt carb a couple times and one valve job. the bottom end never was apart on that car and i always wanted it. if i had of gotten it i would still have it today. a cousin ended up with it and sold it while i was away in the navy.
1966 dart wagon 04-23-2006, 12:30 AM I love wagon's, especially this one:

yakkier 05-25-2006, 09:21 PM Well considering 60's an 70's didnt have many SUV's accept the Jeep an Chevy, They were considerd Wagon's back then an i'v heard more than one person relate my Durango to a wagon, so.. i'd have to say i love em!!, i'v been in two roll over crashes " Jeep cherokee off the side of a mountain" cause of snow and "chevy Blazer up a bridge railing an off into a lake" just cause a ball joint came loose.. it's very true, they are one of the most painfull ways to crash " not that all wrecks arent painful " but to be honest.. after you've rolled once any other times, just dont hurt as much LMAO.

Well maybe they didn't in the US but in Australia we've got A body wagons all through the late 60s and early 70s.
Here's my 1971 Safari wagon. Unfortunately I've still got the small bolt circle stud pattern on the rear so my 18-inch wheels aren't on the back yet... but you get the idea. Under the bonnet is a blow through carby turbocharged 4-litre hemi six.

khughesprime 08-17-2006, 12:42 AM I am a sucker for straight 6's, utes AND compact wagons. Hemi straight 6?-in Australia. Mopar Utes?-In Australia. A body wagons through the 70's?-In Australia. You guys have all the cool stuff. I think I'll move to Austrailia......
mean318 08-18-2006, 06:44 AM I definatly have a soft spot for em, my dads got a '66 dart st. wagon that he is building right now, it has a 410 small block, a500 trans 8 3/4 rear with 4.11's and much much more!!
'68-340-S 08-18-2006, 08:41 PM If it's a Mopar...LOVE it!
I tried to pry one out of this guys hands years ago with the intention of puting a 440 in it... That didn't happen, But the thought is still in my head. Hummm
zakimodo 08-18-2006, 09:09 PM never had one, but if its got a big block why the hell not drive one.
project74 08-22-2006, 04:01 PM Love 'em. Case in point.
khughesprime 08-22-2006, 04:18 PM Here we go... I just noticed the first HATE vote. No reply?
66dartman 09-15-2006, 07:21 AM 63-65 b body wagons are my favorite with a 383/pushbutton. I would love to find one cheap, LOL.
dodge freak 11-08-2006, 06:29 PM Well 20 years ago I hated them, thought a 4500lbs car-truck was so dumb. I mean why, when you could had have a big car that was 3800 lbs and was faster and stop better than a wagon. Now with these 5800 lbs heaps all over the roads, a wagon sounds so nice. And you can see whats in front of them, not like these SUVs.
Oh did I say that I HATE SUVs :cussing: POS you ask me
dodge-n-it 12-30-2006, 08:20 PM I like'em. like'm better when they worked though
tried to talk the wife into a magnum insted of her liberty, but she wont.
66340SEDAN 12-30-2006, 11:09 PM I have a 1973 Fury Custom Suburban wagon that I bought on ebay for $1100 in Seattle WA, I drove it home to Minnesota with NO problems! The car gets as many looks if not more than my other mopars! It is in real nice shape and can be driven anywhere. People think it is neat or some just think I am crazy for owning such a beast! I use it for camping, also to make trips to junk yards to haul home mopar parts. I like driving a car that is different from all the other CRAP on the roads!! The down side is the 400 4bbl sucks gas and I did not drive it this summer very much. Don't demo derby the wagons, they are great cruisers!
abdywgn 01-01-2007, 12:50 PM Dad had a 64 Impala wagon and a 72 Gran Torino-302 w/3-spd on the column.Got my license in the Ford.I've had a Buick wagon and 82 Impala with a 402/TH400.Right now,I have a Mopar cousin,73 Hornet Sportabout(my a-body wagon)and a 76 Matador.Have you seen the video of the ChevyII wagon at Cal-Trac's website?Bob
FASTBACK340 01-01-2007, 12:57 PM http://images19.fotki.com/v315/photos/8/879262/3480400/hiwagon-vi.jpg Whats NOT to like????
khughesprime 01-01-2007, 01:43 PM Most people will tell you that mopar did not have the best looking wagons. Mopar did not try too hard. They had a very small market share - which lead to the developement of the mini van. I am more fond of the land yachts from the early 70's
I have never liked the "looks" of Volares or Aspens (peformance yes) but Saturday a passed up a 77 Aspen Wagon. COOL It looked all original - even paint. If i see it again I'm going attempt to make an offer for it. Maybe I can find one with a slant and make it my parts getter......
2shelbys 01-01-2007, 04:48 PM Kind of neither. I wouldn't say I love them but there are some very cool wagons out there. I saw a '65 dodge at Carlisle that had a 383 long ram in it. Awesome. I also really like to see them restored to original stock condition. I also really like the magnum so I guess I am a lot closer to loving them than I am to hating them. I took my driver's test in my dad's '76 Plymouth Gran Fury station wagon.
mguner 01-01-2007, 11:35 PM We had a 1970 Town & Country Chrysler wagon yellow with the woodgrain decals. It was that sexy "fuselage" body style with the integral spoiler/dust deflector on the rear. Dad thought for a long time it was a 440 car untill I began reading Popular Hot Rodding and other publications and noticed the lack of the hump in front of the valley and found the numbers in front of the head. It was a 383 HP with the carter AVS carb and big factory duals. This car would dog many an unsuspecting pony car in it's day. Nothing special, just one of those cars that ran good. I actually took my driving test in it and had some pretty hot dates in it later....
TheDemonator 01-02-2007, 09:50 PM Ahhh, yesss.... the old wagons! I grew up in a family that always seemed to have a wagon. My dad traded in his 56 Coronet sedan for a 62 Dart Wagon... black with red interior, slant 6 and push button tranny. Then it was the 67 Coronet wagon that I learned to drive in... the first LA 318. Then came the 72 Buick Estate wagon... huge, with electric everything! It had a 455, and went down the road pretty good. After that came the Ford Country Squire 10 passenger wagon... both the Buick and the Ford had the fake wood panels on the sides.
After I got my license I owned a 56 Ford Ranch Wagon and a 56 Chevy Nomad. Both were 2 door wagons. They were cool... Wish that I still had those cars!
Lostsheep_01 01-08-2007, 08:38 PM I have a new found resepct for sleepers, so I'd take a wagon in a heartbeat! That'd be great to build a rustang killer out of! :burnout: Watch the chebby and ferd gals :banghead: , :puke: and eventually :notworth: once they've been embarrassed!
khughesprime 01-21-2007, 03:02 AM cool ride
EvilScamp 01-21-2007, 02:22 PM I found this on another site, pretty freakin cool!

'64 Cuda 01-21-2007, 02:59 PM Wagons can be cool. There were 5 kids in my family so my dad drove wagons. First a 60 Falcon, then a 63 (Galaxie?) wagon, & then a 66 Ford full sized wagon of some sort. My current daily driver is the 86 AMC Eagle Ltd Wagon in the picture below. It's got a Jeep transfer case & wheels, & I'm getting ready for a 2" lift & a rebuilt 258 with a 4.0 Head & Mopar MPI. About a month ago I picked up my kids at school in our mini-van (uuuggghh!) & somebody asked "Where's that cool old car you always drive?" :tongue9:
:burnout:
65dartcharger 01-21-2007, 05:26 PM I just agree. I have a 1965 Dart wagon and I just love it
custom100 02-04-2007, 11:25 PM i'm thinking of getting one though i think not to push my luck with traci (my wife) i should really finish one project before i go looking for another
cudaspaz 03-06-2007, 03:53 PM I love old wagons.
When I see them, I instantly start thinking about family.
Nothing like piling into the wagon as a kid and going camping, fishing, hunting, or to gramma's house.
The little old lady across the street had a 68 Satelite wagon in her garage. B5 blue, 383, AT, AC (still cold), bone stock all the original paperwork and it ran great with 58,000 miles. Her husband bought it new and babied the hell out of it.
She moved to a asisted living home and her next door neighbor was incharge of her estate he sold it to a guy that deals in muscle cars....FOR $2000!!!!!!
I was pissed and I had told him that if she ever wanted to sell it to let me know first. By the way I love wagons!
memike 06-12-2007, 10:14 PM My eyes are always open for them.
72demon340 06-13-2007, 07:07 AM I love wagons, saw a 69 satellite wagon this past weekend, the guy also has a bevedere wagon. I had a chance to buy a 76 volare premier wagon a few months ago for $150. but I opted for the rust free 73 Monaco with a 400 instead for $200. was gonna derby both of them but sold the monaco then someone else bought the wagon before I could go back and get it. I did derby a 73 satellite wagon back in like 1997. It had been sitting in the weeds for 18 years, got it started and ran pretty good. It was really rotted, half the back floor came out when I was taking the back seat out. went through 2 derbies before it was destroyed.
Ozcuda 06-19-2007, 06:20 PM I love em.....My little wagooon is a daily driver fitted with a mild 273, trick 904 & 3:23 LSD it gets me were I want to be in no time.
Ontos 06-20-2007, 01:47 AM I dragged this home a few weeks ago....Saved a whale from Derby Doom!

Wilnutt 06-25-2007, 05:05 PM The only wagons i like are the hot rodded 70' coronets....this ones ok..but once saw a 70' with nice meats on the back, blue with a black bee stripe... GORGEOUS!!!
Wilnutt 06-25-2007, 05:07 PM I Only Like Teh 70' Coronets
Wilnutt 06-25-2007, 05:23 PM sorry for the double post :-)
bOb shingler 06-30-2007, 06:44 PM i have one now and add one other in the past and yes i like them, plenty of room for stuff.
nicoles 07-20-2007, 03:35 PM I love them ! I have a 62 vailent wagon with a /6 and push bottom trans . the lines on this old girl are so cool! The roof overhangs the bach by a couple inches ,has small fins on front and rear fenders. She been sitting since we got the 66 barracuda.mybe get her back on the road one day!
62v200 09-04-2007, 02:37 PM I gotta 1962 Valiant wagon. I bought it because I had never seen another one around where I am in Ohio. I made mine a drag wagon - 30 over 318, 904, 8 3/4 SureGrip 3.91 gears. She's solid too. I usually get a dozen or so guys at the track asking me where I got that thing? and you don't see those anymore. I like mine but bills don't pay themselves so she's gotta go. Its for sale on here if any one is interested.
pastortom1 10-06-2007, 02:37 PM This is the 78 Volare Wagon, REALLY nice condition, that we're picking up right after Columbus Day.......NICE, and runs nearly perfect.....COLD 134a......all stock 225 Six.......drives almost like NEW.............
We'll be doing a street cruiser package on it (possibly RR Wagon, or maybe a Duster), then post some fine pics...................
This is going to belong to Gordon Buley, a new member (and I mean NEW.....not even posted yet)............Yeah, I know it's called an "F" Body, BUT.................it's an "A" if there ever was one!
(Picture the Wagon in your MIND with that scoop and air dam package on it, with some really sweet rims and tires..............mmmmmmmmmmmmOpar.)
:blob::burnout:
bb66cuda 01-04-2008, 09:22 PM I own 65 Dart wagon, love all that room and the short wheelbase.
65dartcharger 01-05-2008, 10:06 AM I've had two 65 Dart wagon, one with slant six and automatic, the other was was rare, 270 w/273x2, 4 on the floor and A/C! But it was so rusted out that I parted it out due to the roof was ready to leave the body!
But a-body wagons are extremly cool!
redfastback 01-05-2008, 10:24 AM we are the proud owner of 3 wagons. 58 studebaker provincial wagon, 65 dart 270 wagon, and a 66 dart 270 wagon. love em!!!
tophat 01-05-2008, 03:48 PM I love old wagons. I am fixing up a 67 Coronet 440 wagon for the wife, should be on the road soon. It will probably wind up being her daily for a while at least. It appears to be a 68??? mile all original survivor car, in pretty good shape. The 318 still runs real good. Just need to finish the disk brake upgrade and a few other minor things.
Now as far as the magnum goes, I think they are ugly at best. Then again I see them for what they are, a commuter appliance that is trying to look like a "cool chopped top" car. Lots of plastic and absolutely no soul. Just another damlerbenzmobile. Might as well have a Caravan, at least it is not trying to be something it is not.
TopHat
jaxle 01-06-2008, 02:49 PM always wanted one.
bthieson 01-07-2008, 12:11 PM Wagons are huge sleepers in my opinion. If done right, they can be amazing!

Avispa 08-21-2008, 05:55 AM Here's one ya don't see everyday, and a factory manual on the floor, it's so big I have to pull in to the truck inspection and scales on the interstates! 8)
FISHBREATH 08-25-2008, 09:46 AM I would love to build a wagon for road trips.
65 Dartman 10-13-2008, 07:30 PM Got a 65 Dart wagon but converting the front clip to a 65 Barracuda (love that front end), adding a 65 Barracuda interior with a 150 MPH speedo and tach 66 Formula S dash, slant 6/904 is already gone so the plan is a 340/904 with quiet dual exhaust, and an 8 & 3/4 with either 2.94 or 3.23 gears, and converting to LBP discs front and rear. To be painted the original white - can you say Grandpa-mobile?
waggin 10-20-2008, 02:54 PM Heres mina after paint,ya'll seen enough of in progress pic's,heres some with paint hope you enjoy....artwork coming soon!
Dfnsmn34 10-20-2008, 03:08 PM waggin! That looks sharp! Nice job!
Aloha!
alan627b 10-20-2008, 10:49 PM How's this for a class act? It tows a wicked fast Valiant pro mod (or some similar class). I saw these this spring at the Bakersfield March Meet.
I didn't think anyone would mind Nurse Ratchet's Olds, even if it has a rear mounted BB Chevy in it. I don't know if she measures up to her statue, unfortunately!
Yellow wagon seen at a Mopar show at Speedworld later that vacation....the scoop was all steel....440+ powered...sweeet! Just as clean underneath!

What you need to swap over to a Barracuda speedo is you have to do the whole dash to make it work. That is what I had to do.

autopar3000 11-14-2008, 10:51 PM Let's be clear... I do not like Fords. That said, I bought this little wagon last year, only because I wanted a small wagon (6 cylinder) and couldn't find a Dart or Valiant.
I can go away for the weekend with my wife & son and we have tons of room for all the accessories a wife and son need, all the while getting reasonable gas mileage. This summer we made several 100 mile trips to the cottage in this car and we had a blast. All the Joe Publics out there seem to love it too; I get twice as many thumbs ups, comments, point & smile, etc than I do in the Swinger.
redfastback 11-14-2008, 11:26 PM My girl would kill for that wagon. SHe loves old falcon wagons, ESPECIALLY red/white ones. If it had a white steering wheel, it would be perfect in her eyes. Great car though.

Your Falcon wagon is cool! Doesn't matter if its a Ford, these old wagons are getting few and far between. Myself I have always had a soft spot for old Falcons and Fairlanes, I've got a '63 Fairlane myself, slow as snot on the road, but good gas mileage and looks cool:cheers:. Thanks for sharing a pic of your wagon!

baucco 11-21-2008, 08:53 PM Saw a really cool old coronet wagon here just the other day. Not sure of the year, pretty beat looking but cool as hell anyway! On my long list of must have cars,I'm sure there's room for a wagon!

BronxMopars, Nella is my 10 year old daughter and she likes to surf this website with me. The convertible is in fact her car and she is very proud of it. When she saw the quote that alleyoop includes in his replies, she was very hurt by it and the message that it purveys. I told her if she doesn't like it, to comment on it and ask him to change it, but she had to do it. All I did was help her post it, but she wanted to include her picture so we couldn't send it through a P.M. Sorry to divert the thread, but that is where we saw the quote and that's where she wanted to reply to it. By the way, we love wagons too, and we are going to pick up one today, so we'll post pictures of it when we get it home.

Have your dad talk to Nella if he needs convincing that your sister needs a Mopar of her own. A panther pink Challenger is just what she needs as a matter of fact, and tell him it's a good investment, a good father/son/daughter project that the whole family will be very proud of. I can tell you that Nella loves to help on her car any way she can. Keep up the good work, Geof
scampy72 11-22-2008, 06:55 PM the wagons with 440's in them were the shit. i would love to get one of those at some point in my life.
65 Dartman 11-22-2008, 07:06 PM What does Dash boards and children with special needs have to do with station wagon's?
The complete 66 Barracuda dash is going in my 65 Dart wagon, along with a bunch of other body/interior/running gear changes
redfastback 11-22-2008, 07:28 PM Love my 66 dart wagon. Still can't find any other ones that have as many options as mine. Anybody know of other highly optioned ones? It would be nice to find others. I have V8, pwr steering, a/c, tinted glass, roof rack, disc brakes. Back in 66' it cost almost $3700.
I am about to pull the motor and rebuild it with the addition of a LD4B intake with an eddy 500 carb.

slantscamp 11-22-2008, 09:31 PM hey steve, i saw you cruisin in your wagon the other night on the freeway. i love seeing old a-bodies on the road, especially the wagons.
805moparkid 11-22-2008, 09:41 PM I think wagons are cool, I love the new Magnum, which to me is a wagon. Mini-vans were the death to wagons.

Nella we all have are faults or handicaps be it not being able to walk or not
being able to understand other peoples disabilities.
If you want to be in the special olympics that's great.
Don't worry if you finish first or not as long as you have a good time doing it.
By the way I like your taste in cars I've got a 68 Barracuda fastback.
It's torn apart right now though.

65barracudadude 03-21-2009, 04:13 PM I love them. Especially waggin's waggin. I've alway's wanted to own an early Valiant or Dart wagon. The only wagon I've ever owned is a 1070 Ford LTD. It was huge and I actually did like the car but It was not an A-body wich is the love of my life. MOPAR!!!!!
george 03-23-2009, 07:27 PM My chevy II is a wagon. love 'em Generally prefer sedans & wagons to hardtops. Good wieght distribution, super stocker vibe, and I dont have to break down my flyrod. Minivans displacing station wagons coincided with the decline of western civilization as we know it. Thats no coincidence...LOL
autopar3000 03-24-2009, 09:21 PM And when SUV's started to displace minivans the slope on the decline of western civilization got much steeper...

64dart170 10-25-2009, 06:33 AM They are growing on me, but not my wife she doesnt like the bigger cars, she is afraid she may hit something when trying to park it :sad2: so we opted for the A body Demon instead. Prices for the wagons are still resonable so far :thumblef:
Love the waggons, love the thread!
ABodyBetty and I see one in our future soon. Grandpa had a early 60's Falcon wagon. I loved it when I was 6 and still would love to have it now! I know "Falcon"??? But it was so cool back then due to the glass pack, wolf whistle, and daily fishing trips in the evenings with grand ma & pa......................Those were trully the days!!! Still live in their same house today and the very same driveway STILL has 60's/70's cars but saddly no waggon yet!8) May be next year!
Hey dd,
Remind your wife the waggon is the same size but is easier to see where "Exactly" the rear corner of your car is by looking inside the car behind you. No guesswork where the rear bumper is like on a Deamon!:-D

1wild&crazyguy 01-30-2010, 11:59 PM I have a deal in the works for a 56 dodge wagon...
jysnflem 02-02-2010, 06:57 PM I just put a deposit on a 1965 Valiant A100 wagon. It's a project car but already has a running V-8 in it. I'll post pictures by the weekend. Jayson
Unless the deal falls through I will be trading my 53 F-100/M-100 for a 57 chevy 4 door wagon in a few weeks. I can't wait, the first thing it is getting is a 57 Buick grill and a smoothed out hood!
jysnflem 02-04-2010, 07:17 PM Well here's the new family car. The wife loves the car and is asking already when can we do to it. It already has a V-8 318 and a 904 trans. The car will need paint and body work. I removed the tailgate cover and it is perfect under the glass. Here's some pictures of the car. Jayson
POS Dakota 02-05-2010, 04:15 AM Nothing cooler than a wagon doing this...

65 wagon 02-13-2010, 08:52 PM I have a deal in the works for a 56 dodge wagon...
===============================================
Here's my buddy's Dodge wagon. Did over 3,000 miles round trip from Ca. (Mt. Shasta in background) to Oregon, Vegas & back. If your going cross country a wagon is a fun way to go.
Fun: Why were Nashes & Ramblers banned from some Drive In Theaters in the 50's & 60's?? The entire car/wagon could be turned into a bed with the fold down seats!
flatnose 02-13-2010, 08:59 PM How 'bout '56 D500 wagon with factory o'drive? That'a sleeper!!
60V200Wagon 06-22-2010, 06:08 PM I love wagons, period. I especially love MoPar wagons. My family unwittingly hooked me on MoPars when I was an infant. Grandma drove a '66 Dart 170 4 dr, but it was the preschool teacher who drove the light green '63 Dart 170 wagon that truly hooked me. And then, I discovered the 60-62 Valiants, and thought "how cool...don't they make it in a wagon?" and then realized they did and I thought "definitely one day".
Now, years later, I have both a 1960 Valiant Wagon, and a 1963 Dart Wagon, and I love them dearly. The cars on which they're based are very cool, but the wagons have a style all their own.
md11hud 06-22-2010, 09:00 PM I grew up with a 1962 Chrysler Newport Wagon. Loved the futuristic dash with a bubble instrument cluster and electroluminescent gauges. Push button transmission, cruise control, front and rear a/c and even a floor mounted push to seek button for the am radio. My folks bought it new in 62, drove it from California to Alaska and back and put almost 300,000 miles on the 361 with only a couple of valve jobs and two transmission rebuilds, although I also remember changing out a fuel pump on a ferry boat ride back from Orcas Island.
The fold down rear seats were great when camping, and as we kids got to drive it in High School, they made for some interesting date nights! Drive in theaters, parking at Renton airport "watching the planes land" etc.
The dent in the front bumper is from when my brother took out a telephone pole after the engine quit on him - with the super boosted power steering and brakes on this beast, it was quite a chore to steer and stop without boost. However, the pole took the beating, snapping off at the base.
Sure wish my dad had kept that car, even though it got 11 mpg (uphill, downhill, towing a trailer - whatever). It now resides in Europe.
Purple Haze 06-24-2010, 01:43 PM I like the 2 dr one's, never was one for anything with more than 2 dr's.
I OWN PAGE 10.
Plymouth Power 09-20-2010, 06:52 PM First off for the most part LOVE wagons. Secondly does anyone kwon if a V10 was ever shoehorned into a Magnum that would be the only way I would want one, you know just to be different otherwise they are just too common.

78d200 10-04-2010, 06:54 AM Wagons are great for drag racing. All that extra weight from teh glass over the back tires really helps out.
HotLines 11-05-2010, 01:53 PM Before Mike became a household name in the custom world we were friends and still are today, this was one of his rides as well, I think he sold it recently

hustlinA 02-21-2011, 11:39 AM my old wagon...
matthon 02-22-2011, 12:00 AM My friend had a 64 Belvedere wagon in high school, black with red interior, push button, rusted quarters and fenders but solid floors and doors- he broke the tranny cooler lines running it through a pond near my house, put brake fluid in it to get it out, which it did drive out. The tranny died soon after and he junked it.
Here is one near me- not for sale but is in very good condition:
timbolia 02-23-2011, 11:06 AM If I could get another wagon that would be my choice, I love the look of the 64 Belvedere.
Who am I kidding though, I love em all!
MachineMan 03-15-2011, 04:04 PM .
My first car was a station wagon.
My Mom had a station wagon, it was really handy!
I was with her visiting some friends of hers when I spotted a nice G0-Kart in the garage.
My Mom coughed up the $25 and it came home with us.
I love wagons and I love my Mom.
I think most folks would like to have a wagon because they are great for running errands and picking up needed items for projects.
Break down in the middle of no-where?
Big deal, stretch out and handle it in the morning.
Have a girlfriend that likes to fool around?, like I said, really handy.
Going camping? ...... Great, really great.
Ya'll like to hit the yard sales on weekends?
A station wagon is very handy for that as well.
In the past I owned a 1957 Ford "Two Door" Ranch Wagon
I loved that car, I really wish I still had it.
The wagon in my life right now is an 88' Volkswagen Fox 60,000 miles, in perfect condition.
I am putting a five speed in it out of a 93' Fox sedan.
It will be great for picking up and dropping off jobs.
If there was a 70'-74' Dart Wagon I would own one.
Darter6 03-15-2011, 04:13 PM I had a 80 Volare' wagon and drove it coast to coast,Sorry I ever sold it.
timbolia 04-13-2011, 05:50 PM So any other wagon owners going to the spring fling?
60V200Wagon 04-18-2011, 10:50 AM So any other wagon owners going to the spring fling?
I went. I have to say, there was a nice number of late 50's Chrysler and Dodge MoPar wagons, but nearly no 60-66 A bodies: either sedans OR wagons. I think I counted a total of 2 a body wagons, and only a 64 Valiant wagon was on the car field for display. The other was a 65 Dart parked outside. I brought my 63 Dart wagon, but was forced to park far away, since I wasn't showing it. Had I brought my 60 valiant wagon, I would have been nearly the only Toad there: the only other showing was a 61 Lancer sedan for sale, in poor shape.
timbolia 04-18-2011, 12:23 PM Yeah I was there Saterday, I saw those 2 wagons. The 65 Dart was nice, but I may be prejudiced. I was dissapointed in the lack of early As. A few nice convertibles though.
It was fun, I got a new bumper and some wheels, and seatbelts.
mtandrews 04-18-2011, 01:56 PM I would LOVE to have this!!!

Oldmanmopar 12-21-2011, 09:02 AM I would love to put a common rail Cummins Diesel in a 1970's fury wagon for a tow vehicle.
franktiregod 12-21-2011, 09:05 AM I have been looking at them and thinking about gettign one for a while now. I love the wagons!!
The Sasquach 12-21-2011, 10:47 AM I love Wagons! i have had three a '71 LTD ( Wood Grain and all) 429 CI. 460 lb of torque @ 1100rpm, used to kill the Pony cars in the late 80's. I also had a nice '66 Bel Air Wagon, 283 3 on the tree. That one would smoke the tires like a mad man. Also had a '73 Plymouth Suburban Wagon 360, 727, 323 Sure grip. you couldn't touch the throttle on a cloverleaf with out the sure grip locking and sliding the rear of the car around. Talk about drifting a boat. lol David
65dartcharger 12-24-2011, 04:45 PM I just bought a 1965 Dart 270 wagon fron Lancaster, CA. I wish I could get it to Sweden faster. I just love them.
LH23H2R 12-28-2011, 08:18 AM Years ago , I saw a 1971 Coronet wagon with a factory-installed 383 Magnum / 4 speed combo at a classic car dealership in Carlsbad (Ca.)
I knew back then (1991) that it was rare . I wanted it in the worst way , but could ill-afford actually own and operate a big block anything .
I wonder whatever happened to that 'Mag Wagon' ... ?
SpikeWills69 05-15-2012, 11:47 PM I guess I'm being bold being a Jr. member and all-but I gotta know how you all feel about station wagons.
Love em! First real project was 58 Plymouth family station wagon. 318 poly blew up and my Dad and I found a 57 D500 325 Hemi in a bone yard. That thing would haul the mail. Buddy also has a mint 68 plymouth satellite wagon with a 440 that's a real sleeper.
Those 62-65 Bs sure have a lot of charater in rear portion "wagon area".
As much as I love the 66/67 B body, the "wagon area" styling seems a bit plian to be.
Same goes for 68-70.
IMO, they finally got the wagon mojo back in 72 and up, and the 72-74 wagons look way better IMO than the 4 D sedan.
I've also seen some badass Aspen amd Volare wagons at the strip.
Light weight, lotsa tire, weight over the rear tire = fast
This one's been floating around down here, and the price seems to be going up every time I see it-

Demon416 05-16-2012, 10:06 AM Wagons are cool in my book. I had a 1971 Ford wagon once. It was a "rust bucket," but drove it to work everyday. Got rid of it after the spare tire fell out through the floor pan. Always had a soft spot for the older Mopar wagons. They were always my favorites.
66SBARRACUDA 05-16-2012, 10:36 AM I had 76 volare in 86 we packed it down and hook it to my 83 shity truck chevy and started on our way to FL From SLC UT. We made it sterling CO and the the @#%!@#$ P.O.S threw a rod clear out of the block 305 POS hooked the 225 wagon to the truck they were bouth loaded to the gills and we got to FL with out any more problems and got better gas mileage and only used a quart and half of oil. Never had any thing butt a morpar since then with my name on it!!! My 2nd wife likes her shitys so be it. The salesman thought i was weird when he asked us what name to put frist and i said thats easy dont put my name on it at all!!!!!!!! MOPAR OR NO CAR!!!!!!!!!!!
Hyper_pak 05-19-2012, 04:21 PM Just back from the Motorplex. 1960 Belvedere 2 Door Wagon. Low 10's. Seriously cool, and like 10 miles of stainless trim. Slant six one barrel!
Just kidding, INDY BIG Block.
