Instrument cluster question.

I have removed my cluster out of a '75 Duster.

How do you take the back units of the two switches off ? Is it via the front ? It looks like some sort of spring washer is holding them in.

Is there a bit more user friendly wiring diagram for under the dash ?

70 duster p/s to manual steering box

I have 70 duster with power steering, but I also have a manual steering box, I'm planning to remove the 318 and adding a 360 with headers. is it a good idea to swap them? If so will I have to modify anything to install it?

it was my hs car that got me in lots of trouble... then it sat at my parents house for 13 yrs... got it going again last summer and it just isnt as much fun as i remember... got too many other projects and really dont have any motivation for this anymore... no major rust... but the quarters have bondo and the rear panel.. what you see is the bad part.. as you can see from the list it has a ton of money in it..

rear quarter window help needed

My driver side rear window wasn't rolling down properly ('72 Scamp). Thanks to the research on this site I was able to remove the seat and access the window. I found the broken piece, see pictures. It holds the window straight as it rolls down. Mine broke and now wont hold the track. What is this called? Are there replacements?

I also can't figure out how I will reinstall it once I have replaced it - anyone have tips on reinstall?

Want to trade 64 savoy for a 63 dodge. My car is street/race car that I'm currently rebuilding front suspension with new bushings, torsion bars, idler arm, etc. I have a nicely built 440 with zero miles and also a 727 with all HD parts also zero miles. Car has ss springs, frame tied, and is tubbed. I put value at 15K for trading purpose. Would like a 63 dodge 330, 440, or polara. what have you got.

Newer Aluminum W/P on '65 273 with A/C

Daughters '65 Cuda, Factory A/C with 273. I installed Firm Feel power steering Box from manual. Putting later Saganaw pump on motor, can I just swap to Aluminum pump on Motor with pass side outlet? Cast Iron Pump lower outlet hits newer steering pump and factory Mopar Bkts. I got with pump will not work and I do not want to do a "Butcher Job". I know lower radiator port will neeed to be moved but what about my stock Alt. and A/C ? Any input welcome. Thanks, Tim (Dad) :banghead:

I am currently running an mallory unilite dist with an msd 6al with an other wise stock ignition and charging system in my 70 duster with 440. This is a drag car with limitd street use. The battery is in the trunk with a two post cut off switch. I have a msd pro billet dist, msd suggested coil, powermaster 8172 one wire alt to install. I plan to to pick up a dpst (4post) cut off switch as well. All lights, wipers turn signals work properly. Any suggestions or diagrams as to how to wire this charging system? Thanks

I'm just about to mount oil pan onto an engine. Upon applying gasket and found there are gap in between (Red Arrows). Will this leak? it is a detroit Gasket. If it leak, any recommend gasket to have proper seal?

The car has a pertronics ignition, have spark to the plugs. I have a jumper wire from the battery to the coil ( bypassing the ignition ). When trying to start the engine turns over ( using starter fluid ) and will try to start after cranking for a while. I am thinking the timing is off, and was going to loosen the dist and move it when trying to start. Any suggestions ? How can you check to see if timing is off with engine not running ?:banghead:](*,)

Do you buff fresh paint differently?

I have buffed a few cars with great success. So when my friend ask me to buff his car with fresh paint, I said sure! No problem!
Now that I think about it... I'm a little gun shy. I mean its fresh paint, I don't want to be the guy to screw it up.
Any advice? The paint has actually been on the car for about three weeks. Its black, with clear coat. He is wet sanding it first. I'm not doing that for him! No thanks! :)

I'm sure I'm not the first and won't be the last to whine about this but I'm tired of guys wanting WAAAYYY too much money for stuff, like a hundred bucks for a 40-year old gas cap, 300 bucks for a 40 year old valve cover that "still has the original paint on it" (as-in needs to be medial blasted, dents removed, and repainted). Now I see a guy on Ebay who want's $1250 for a set of NOS trim rings, then he has the stones to tack-on another 50 for shipping. Rear-end hole that I am, I sent that poor guy a message bashing him for it.
As-always feel free to lambast me for this post but I'm sure I'll have some supporters also. It's just beginning to wear me down.

Not charging with headlights on

My car is a 1970 Duster with a 1965 273 engine. I have the Pertronix Flame Thrower Coil and the Ignitor distributer and a bypassed ballast resistor. Everything has worked fine for a year this way.

I noticed while driving home in the dark that my headlights where dim and that my alternator ammeter showed the car was not charging, see picture. I turned the headlights of and it went back up to the middle. Because It was dark I had to have the headlights on so I went straight home. Getting close to home the car started to stutter, I turned headlights of and it stopped.

I have very little knowledge of electrical issues. I re-charged the battery and checked it with a multimeter. With the engine in idle without the headlights on it read 12.20 and while reving it quite hard it never went up to more then 12.27. With headlights on it read 12.02 on idle and did not went up at all while reving.

My friend had an spare alternator (not sure of the condition of it to be true), so I tried that and it was the same.

I�d really appreciate some pointers on how to use the multimeter to look for the issue before buying a new voltage regulator or alternator. Tried to explain best I can in english aswell :)

can an A-body tow?

i have been wondering lately if i can use my dart to tow a car dolly with a car on it.

i have access to a number of farm trucks and a 22' dovetail trailer .....problem with that is all of my dad's farm trucks are F-350 with either 460s or diesels and to take a hundred mile trip to pick up or deliver a car is really painful at the pump .....diesel is not cheap and neither is regular unleaded in the quantity that these trucks take.

i know how to drive with a trailer ....farm life has put me behind the wheel of these massive trucks with a full load of hay or a bunch of cows in the trailer many many times....so that is nothing new to me.

but in a quest to become more mobile for much cheaper i am wondering if my dart or any 8 3/4 equiped A-body can handle a car dolly ....i have seen sweptline trucks with 741 case 8 3/4 so im thinking even a 741 can handle the weight.

im wondering if the B-body wagon would do any better than an A-body ...just bcoz its a much bigger car.

im not sure if car dollys come with electric brakes ....

anyone have any experience towing with an A-body??

904 every gear is first gear

Got my 70 dart out for a spin and every
gear was first gear. Park still works fine
but put the car in what should be reverse
and it's in first, same with neutral it's all
first gear no matter where you move the
shifter except that park is working fine.
The pointer on the column is working fine
and the linkage below is clean and tight
and as you shift through the gears everything
feels normal other than it is in first gear
Any ideas?

For sale, a set of 4 vintage Cragar S/S mag wheel spinner center caps. There are no part numbers on these, but you can tell they are the older version cause they don't have the copyright logo on the front. These all show some age and patina, light scratches and a couple small pits in the chrome, the pits are all in the textured area and not easily seen. 1 has some ugly scratches on the base (see pics) all 4 also have some light marks or dents on the spokes, looks like some idiot tried to "knock" them off, 2 are better than the others, not real bad and are on the edges.

On the back the mounting holes are good, not stripped. 3 of the 4 have the little locator pin broken off (probably from the idiot who tried to "knock" them off) but this is only for the rear mounting plate and doesn't affect the mounting at all. These would be great for a driver or to restore. These older ones are harder to find in a set so don't miss out. $100 shipped to your USA door, I am in central MN, thanks FABO :glasses7:

Bore Pistons, pins, cam and solid lifters (Numbered to go back on their original lobes, thrust plate, oil p/u, all the various nuts and bolts Basically everything in the shorblock but the block itself, If you've got an empty std. bore block, this is a deal! Pics would be of the block assembly, I'm not tearing it down unless I've got a serious buyer. It's for sale complete locally. As I said, this was a good running engine..had oil pressure, no knocks and no smoke.

Bridge collapsed near me

A truck carrying an oversized load hit a bridge knocking out a couple of supports, shortly after that that section collasped.
I went by there today and took a couple pictures. There not to good because of the distance they were keeping people away and I was using my phone.

Three people wound up in the river but all survived.
