Painting plastic trim

Can any one tell me what the process would be for painting plastic trim? I'm converting my interior from white to black and need to paint the kick panels, window trims etc. I'm also wondering about replacement interior door panels, it's a 73 scamp 2dr.

Leaf Springs - '74 Valiant - How are they supposed to look

I bought a 74 Valiant and it has the 1-3" adjustable shackles on it. I want to replace the leaf springs and remove the shackles. The problem is, I have no idea how the springs are supposed to be mounted.

The current mounting brackets just don't look right. I would take pictures but I am overseas for another month and trying to buy up my parts for my return.

Can anyone out there take pictures and post what the stock mounts and setup is supposed to look like (front and back of springs)? Maybe I am missing something or just plain crazy.

Oil Pump Gasket?

I got a new mopar performance oil pump. It didn't come with a gasket, and when I took off the old pump there was no gasket. After searching the web I have yet to find a MP oil pump gasket. Are they unnecessary?

I need some advice. I'm looking into buying some parts from a member here who has only been a member here for a very short time(less than a month) & only has a few posts, anyway they don't have a paypal account but would accept a check or M.O. I'm a little nervous about sending funds that way espescially since they are such a new member & they could just cash my check or MO & run. I was wondering if there is another option anybody out there could suggest that would work for both sides. Agian, paypal is out.
I have no indication that they aren't honest, but you can't be too careful these days. I got burned on a fiberglass hood I had ordered from a guy a few years ago & paid in full as requested with a money order so he could start making it & then he ran off & I got screwed!

Hey gang I have 2 273s one is a short block(66 or 67 I think) the other is complete(1965)minus rocker arms,carb and dizzy. I am considering selling them. My questoin is are they worth bothering with or should I toss them. The short block did turn over over. I gave it to a buddy of mine who was going to rebuild it. Turns out he left it sitting outside for about 2 months the cylinders are rusty now. The 65 turns over, and I was told by the former owner that it ran when pulled. He pulled in favor of a 340.

Seat Belt Bolt Needed

When I bought my 72 Dart it came with seat belts for the front lap belt not installed. I went down to hardware store got two grade 8 bolts that fit the body nuts. Passenger side worked fine, so wifey is safe, but drive won't line up. I beleive this is suppose to be a star head bolt which would allow this to line up through the outer hole. Where can I get one.

So I kinda just wanna double check. If I got a b body 8.25, do I need to relocate spring perches and shorten the housing and axles to fit my 70 dart? I figure since u have to for an 8.75 b body ud have to for an 8.25

Side note: the reason I ask is I will attempt to purchase a b body 8.25 rear (duh). I don't suppose there is anyone in here that is local to me and willing to do a fabo young gun like me a favor?

I dnt have the equipment, skills or know how to do the required mods to make it fit in my dart. Anyone wanna maybe do that stuff for me (if I get the rear, of course)

well as the title says i have the 383/833 for my dart but nothing else. So with that in mind i am wondering what would be the best keeping price in mind, combination for my dart. Should i go hydraulic? if so any kits better than another or ones to avoid? or clutch? Car will be mainly street driven with little track time during the summer months. 383 looks to be a stock rebuild.

I want to use my stock fuel level gauge with my after market fuel cell sender unit.

My understanding is that the stock system operates in a range of 0 to 60 ohms. Is that correct?

My fuel cell sender unit has a range of 0 to 90 ohms. Whay can I do to make it work accuratly?

I'm just testing the gauges now and the temp gauge is acting funny. I've tried 2 new sender units to make sure it is not the senders. Double checked the connections & ground.

The fuel guage is not hooked up to the sender unit at this time.
The entire instument cluster was overhauled & detailed profesionaly.

When I turn the key on the temp gauge goes all the way to the right and "bounces". Do you have any ideas?

Charging troubles slant 6

I have been having some charging problems with my 64 Dart slant 6 lately. I have premium relay style voltage regulator from Napa, and a alternator from Carquest. I have an electronic ignition which was converted by a previous owner, I think it is a pertronix style. Is there an issue with running electronic ignition with a relay style regulator? I had the alternator tested by advance auto, it is 3 days old, and the test showed a bad alternator. The alternator has a lifetime warranty, and the manager will provide me with another tomorrow, and stated he will refund the alternator if it does not work for me this time around.

ok guys the dart swinger that i have was a 6 car with a 904 trans...if i was going to insatll a 360 with a 904 trans would the driveshaft have to be cut or would it work without being cut???????i know in my duster when i went from a 904 to a 727 i had to cut the shaft about 3" i think it was,but this car was a 6 and i have no idea..i know there are a few that have went from the 6 to small block and thought i would ask..also what else would have to be changed ????i know the mounts are diff. but that should be it right??? thanks mike :thumleft:

Shoulder Belts

Likely going to be picking up a 69 Plymouth Valiant in a few days. However, it has only the lap belts. I would like to retrofit the car with the 3 point shoulder belts, front and back. I've got 2 school age boys that still need booster seats, by law.

Has anyone done this? Any links to the actual belts to order and/or guides to doing this would be great.

Well one thing led to another and we drove home with a 2012 Challenger R/T Classic. This thing is awesome. Split Bench Seat Knob

I'm looking for chrome knob that attaches to the side of the split bench seat for my 72. Maybe 70 & 72 are the same. I don't know.

It's the knob that allows you to swing the seat back forward.

Drivers side if that matters.

.....to have been able to assist in the moderating of this great site however with that said due to time restraints on ones life i no longer have what i feel is enough time to devote to what i consider necessary for a contributing moderator here on FABO. I've been here a long time and have met a ton of good people and will still do so but i'm stepping down as mod so Joey/Adam can fill the slot with those that have enough time in their lives to assist adequately here at FABO. It was not a requested move but something i felt would be best for both FABO and myself. As a matter of fact Joey did say to just sing out when i felt time would present another stint. Thanks for the vote of confidence Joey. Many great mods on here making this site happen so keep up the great work. I will still come on from time to time and of course i'll be hanging on the Polit section hoping one of those posters will get the gov lined out once and for all. LOL. Thanks for the memories guys and gals. I must add. I dont think in my stint here i have made any enemies that i can recall. Your buddy
