Before my dad was hospitalized we were working on his 62 polara 500 413 max wedge. I would love to get his car done for him. When we put the drive shaft in w/ the car on jack stands we ran it. It had a vibration. We took the drive shaft out, no vibration. I need to find a place that can balance the drive shaft. We always to our shafts to a place called HEAVY DUTY PARTS. They cant do it. We live in north central PA. 17856 Any ideas ?

Make sure the shaft you are using is for the Dodge, and not from a Plymouth.
There is a two inch difference, and the shorter Plymouth shaft will not fully seat into the transmissions rear flange.
It'll vibrate like crazy

does it have the vibration when driven - off the stands ? Just a wacky first thought I had when I read this.

We never got to drive it yet. I found a place called Mapco & they said they could balance it. So I dropped it off this morning on my way to they hospital. When I got home this evening there was a message saying it was done. SWEET!!!!!! Thanks all

Little drive from you but reasonable is A-1 Drive Shafts They have been in business since 1979.1642 Beason Street Baltimore Maryland 800-228-0356. Its an old fashion place but they can fix it right. I just had them do my for my 340 dart and what a difference.

Where were the jack stands? If rear was hanging them maybe the shaft was too short.

Could be something in the rear or brakes too.

jack stands are under rear. Got the drive shaft back today & installed it. Started it up & no vibration. Now all I have to do I figure out the push buttons.
