Got trash in it grooved the crank sent it out to crankshaft speciality in Tennessee got took my 800 claim crank was right put it back together found metal in the filter pulled it apart rod was oil starved on same journal have crank check local it's cracked..so I decided to go bigger new crank rods piston..

Bigger is better!
I wish u luck on your new build, I’m excited to see how it progresses!

Thanks short block should go together today if mains came in yesterday..only thing going to hold me up is getting the cam cut for nos but hopefully that will go smoothly..pretty much have everything else except vacuum pump but the builder is a dealer of g z motorsports pumps so that shouldn't be a problem..

Short block is done also added the receiver wire for the head gaskets ..going to try and get heads on tomorrow to check piston to valve along with knowing what to do with the cam when having it recut or getting a new core..

We're talking about 300 on a fogger with a control to bring it in slowly..but the system will be able to go much more if needed..

Not to change the subject, but just saw ur timing cover post on moparts, I used the 440 source cover on dads motor and it has been fine, no leaks there and it’s pretty rigid, I dimpled it for the new solid roller cam and cam button to get the right clearance, no timing pointer so I made one from some aluminum, turned out nice!

Thanks on the timing cover ..i went ahead and ordered the milodon 1 hopefully it will work out or I'll just get a aluminum 1 next time ..long as I don't leak it's fine with ..

Should serve u well,

Well new cam.should be here Monday then plumbing is all left to do..not sure if I'll hit the dyno or just the run in stand ..hopefully I'll get a great day of weather and be able to test it out before the year is done

I'm looking forward to seeing the numbers when you get it running. I'm going to guess 782 hp on the motor, but I'm hoping for more. How was the car set up with the old 451 (trans, rear end, and race weight) and what was it running?
