What drove you guys into this passion for Mopars? Has it been a life long passion or something recent? Any ex-ricers who found their way to immortality? I've always been curious as to what has driven fellow Mopar fanatics into this hobby of passion. :read2:

I got hooked because my dad had a 71 340 4 speed duster. My dad pasted away when I was in high school and now I am building a 71 duster to keep the conversations alive. I am mopar guy for life now. My best friend has a 70 super bee and we work on them every chance we get.

my dad 72 challenger and a 72 charger cousin 72 duster grandpas a-100

Because they have always done more with less than the other makes. they always engineered their way from behind. think the HEMI, Areo cars, & the total domination at the beginning of Pro Stock racing. The street package cars were always fast. Just a great product.

I'm an ex ricer I had a 93 Honda hatchback with all the goodies I was looking at craigslist and I saw the 71 scamp and said wow that's a nice looking car I sold my hatch and bought the scamp I don't regret it one bit instead of having a car that everyone in LA has I have an original car and proud of it. Mopar or no car ;)

My dad was a long-time Chrysler customer. Among many Chrysler products he owned were 67 and 69 Barracudas. It was natural for me to follow in his footsteps.

I liked Ford until my Father took me to a Mopar show in 1984 when I was 14 years old.I have always liked older cars but Mopars were just different.Different colors, and a different look than any other car.I have been hooked on Mopars 26 years now.It is really a sickness not a hobby for me.
Someone pointed this out to me years ago,and I found it to be true. How Many Chevy or Ford Guys do you know that just have only 1 or 2 cars. Now how many Mopar Guys do you know that have more than 4 Mopars.I know of atleast 10 Mopar Guys that have 20 or more Mopars.I know of atleast 20 mopars Guys that have 10 or more.I know alot of Mopars Guys that have 4-5 Mopars.I always have somewhere between 2-4 Mopars besides my Mopar daily drivers. So its a sickness for many others too.
So yes it has been a life long sickness for me.I have never drank, smoked or used drugs so what the hell!

Because I am letting my dart idle in the garage right now and it is shaking all of my wife's nicknacks on top of her kitchen cabinets. :snakeman: It really ticks her off. For me it is many differnent things. I have always liked the looks of mopars because they are different and you don't see many on the roads.

My dad had 56 Fury, uncle had a 64 Sport Fury 426 street wedge. That got me going at a young age but when I was young man in the 80's Mopar was not given the time of day and you didn't see them that often. There was always plenty of bowtie crap everywhere. We were the under dog that over came.

Simple. My '68 SS Chevelle got blown off the interstate by a Dodge R/T. I traded the car for an orange '70 440 4-speed RR and I never looked back.

i used to love imports, and then my dad started restoring his 70 duster 340, 727, then i found the way of the mopar,

My dad was a Chrysler/Plymouth dealer for over twenty years in NJ. He would bring home new cars all the time and I spent lots of time in the showroom. Unfortunately he passed away just before I bought my first Mopar. He would have loved the fact that I got into this hobby. RIP Dad!

I am not sure if it was by chance or what, but me and all of my running buddies in High School all had Mopars. (Dart, Challenger, 'Cuda, GTX, Fury...ect.)

Nice, very nice!!!!!!!! It's nice to see some converted ricer's amidst the rest of the hard core faithful. I got into it guys because Mopar is different and I've always liked being different then the crowd. Not to mention they are just so much more appealing to me then anything Chevy or Ford could offer. I absolutely can't wait to get back into my Dart because the passion is back for me.

Mopar is different. Any idiot can go out and buy a cookie cutter Mustang or Camaro. Takes a real man for a Mopar. Plus.....Hemi.

After reading all of this I had to go out and start the Dart, you know, just to hear it rumble a little bit.

Mopars are different, they get under your skin somehow. And once that happens, it is no longer an option, you have to have them.:love7: And for some it's like eating potato chips, you can't have just one!

I love Mopars because they have more of that bad *** look than the Chevy's and Fords. The other reason is my uncle had a 73 Twister Duster when I was growing up. I always told myself that when I'm able I will have me a Duster. My dad also had a 71 Road Runner but the Duster I remember the most.

Because as a kid I road from Western Kentucky to Southern Florida in the back of a 67 Satellite Station wagon with 12 inch wide tires and one bad *** 440. Plus at any given time I could count 25-30 Mopars between my Uncles house and ours. My family has a ton still, 71 Cuda 340, 73 Challenger 340, 78 Magnum 18xxx miles 400, 70 Swinger 318, 71 D-100 440, my Duster, 48 Dodge Pickup 383, plus another dozen or so newer models.

I had always liked old cars when I was younger. My oldest brother got me into muscle cars becuase, but he liked all makes but prefered chevy. He had owned nothing but novas. Two of my uncles have novas as well. My dad always owned GM. My other brother had a 70 camaro. My mom had a fairlane when she was younger. I had never ridden in a Mopar during my childhood or knew anyone that had one. But when going to car shows they always jumped out at me. Just seemed more unique and uncommon. When I was a kid I was so fascinated by the old cars and wanted to learn as much as I could about the history. To me it seemed like Mopar had their head in the game more than the other makes. They came up with ideas that were genius. I still like any old car but Mopar will always stand out to me as being the best.
