timing cover type and timing marks

No 0n the dial back. I figured out, as you said, no matter which side the marks are on as long as you have TDC on #1 is what matters.

timing cover type and timing marks

The balancer marks are on the right side. I marked 0, 10, 20 and 30 degree marks. I've sketched this out since I posted and I don't think which side the marks are on makes a difference, the only difference would be if the marks don't align with TDC, which they do. It's killing me because it ran...

timing cover type and timing marks

Hello, I have a 65 valiant with a 273. I rebuilt and upgraded many of the pieces on this engine when I restored the car 15 years ago. I replaced my old style timing cover for a post 70's version with the scale on the driver's side. I also replace the harmonic balancer and timing gears at that...

Speedo Cable for push button or cable shift 904

I'd be very interested. The one I'm replacing had a kink in the outer housing that leaked and finally broke it in half. I currently have a white gear, but I upgraded to 14" tires so my speedo reading is faster than I'm actually going, but I don't know what would be the right gear for the rim size/?

Speedo Cable for push button or cable shift 904

Hi Guys, I'm looking for a source for a new speedo cable. The trans is a TF6/904 in a 65 Valiant with a 273. The cable has the gear attached to the cable on the trans end, haven't been able to locate one like it. Any ideas? Picture attached

904 cable shift stuck in Park

No, the sleeve and spring are installed correctly, the coil with the washer holds the pawl and the tail of the spring sort of wraps around one leg if the pawl to keep it in position. The sleeve just drops down a tad, just enough to slide the housing over it. I've bought a lot of stuff from Pat...

904 cable shift stuck in Park

Right, Since my trans is still in the car and up on jack stands it's hard to see inside, but on mine it looks like the ramp and roller are maybe partially engage. It may not be fully engaged since I can move the pawl a tad, but not much. I think I'm going to have it taken to the trans shop and...

904 cable shift stuck in Park

Those are nice pictures, shows the works of this system clearly. My spring is set up just like your pic. it's not upside down or bent or distorted. In your first picture, that must be the disengaged position of the pawl? In my car the pawl is not protruding down below the edge of the case as...
