I saw a table in a factory manual somewhere, showing that engines for the a/c equipped cars did indeed have a water pump pulley which was slightly smaller than the crank pulley. So yes, A/C cars did have an overdriven water pump according to that table.
I believe that table was for the 273...
Your work is of amazing quality!
I discovered that a "stepped bit" is perfect for drilling holes in sheet metal. Although a bit expensive ($29 when I bought mine), I was thrilled at how easily it drilled a hole in the firewall. Each step centers the hole for the next increasing size. The bit...
Very nice!
Wow. I thought I had it difficult when I had to travel 30 minutes to go work on my Barracuda. You're far away from your car.
Which steering wheel do you have? I like the look of it.
hi @Syleng1 -
Was this from FirmFeel? They seem to stock rebuilt original units such as the "Small Sector Stage 2 (Modern Street)".
Or was this a Borgeson like from Mancini Racing (BRG800126), with a 14:1 ratio?
14:1 sounds tough from other comments here. Was it good for you?
That's what...
I have two thick repair books? (not A-body). It would be a shame to just toss these; I hope someone can use them:
#1-- Motor's Auto Repair Manual 1957
#2 -- Motor's Auto Repair Manual 1963
$5 each plus shipping from California, USA.
The 1963 book covers cars from 1953 - 1963 with these brands...

4. Backing plates worn where the shoes ride
...is insidious. Everything looks OK, backing plates might show wear, but the shoes bind against the backing plate. This happens even if the 'pads' where the shoes rub are lubricated.
It took me a LONG time to figure this out.
Symptoms include...
Hi - could you repost that article? The link doesn't go anywhere.
Could you explain your plan? Doesn't fuel vent out of the original gas cap?
I'm restoring a 1967 Barracuda and I need to replace the fuel tank so I'm interested in ideas to make the car safer / never smell like fuel / etc.
This is good to know, thanks, @RustyRatRod.
Thanks @GTX JOHN. We are so far away from those power levels that I won't worry about it right now. But it is good to know
Thanks @PROSTOCKTOM .
I'm exploring all options to go from my 7-1/4 rear end, small bolt pattern 5x4, to the big bolt pattern 5x4.5, so I can install Wilwood disk brakes. The current diff ratio is 2.something. The car was nice on the highway from what I remember driving it long ago, so a tall...
@Curtis336 -
Is this a B200, or a B300 van?
(The B200 has 5 lug wheels, the B300 has 8 lug wheels and a super heavy-duty full-floating rear axle.)
I believe your van is a 1974, correct?
Is it the 318 engine with the 2 barrel carburetor?
I had a B200 van and a B300 camper top van. Both had...
