Love the thread. Think I'll be doing the same thing to my 74 just can't beat the price, strength, and power of the ls. Doesn't help I've been watching tons of sloppy mechanics seeing what can be done with the motors and the power they make.

15x10 with a 325/50/15, total width wheel to wheel on the axle was about 51 1/4. Yesssir still a leaf spring car! Shitty stockers for now till i save the cash for cal tracs and their leafs! Went from a 7 1/4 with 2.76's to a 60 with 4.10's! excited to drive it again!

If you're looking to go new, i'd look into moser! I'm so happy with my dana 60 thats custom width. Dana is a bit cheaper than a 9 but keep in mind that the highest gear you can run in a 60 is 3.54.
