I'm in need of a Keystone wheel cap to replace a lost one. Looks the same as full size but smaller than the standard. It is approximately 2 3/4 inch in diameter.
This second shot is of my tow of a 72 Sat Sebring just after I got to Minn from AZ.
I find towing this way is more stable than a tow dolly and easier to back up if necessary.

I'm a fan of Por15 over sandblasted metal.
but... the problem you might run into is that Por15 is so hard and shiny when it dries that there won't be much "tooth" for the fiberglass to bond to. I found it difficult to sand it was so hard.

try to get all the wiring connectors with the trans. The kit I used had 3 electrical switches. Only the one that connected to engine vacuum had its own connecter.

Also.. due to different materials, different density, I would expect them to expand and contract at different rates during temperature changes. again perhaps cracking at the union.
I did the same on a 72 Swinger. But I reused the old seal. I cleaned the pinchweld due to rust and painted it. I installed the same window and gasket I took out and it was loose. WTF!
Turns out there was foam seal (filler) that I had removed from the pinchweld during clean up.
