I re-used some of the original fuel line and I flushed it out real good. I had to cut some of it to attach a electric fuel pump near the tank. I lost some of the column shifter parts so I went ahead and installed a Hurst Shifter on the floor. I found the missing pieces later in a box I had...
They were yelling that the wheels were moving. I didn’t have it in park all the way. I had to adjust the shifter to fix that. Good thing I had the rear on blocks. lol
The starter isn’t engaging all the way. It turns the motor over but it grinds. I removed it and re-installed it. Same thing. I’ll be buying another starter next. Discount only carries 13” trailer tires but that’s good enough for a test drive or two around the block.
So we just got the car running and idling great. Pretty good for an engine that hasn’t been ran in over 8 years. The last time was on an engine dyno by the machine shop. I’m beyond stoked. We’ve been hard at work for the past three weeks with the goal of just making it turn over.
Well the Hurst shifter linkage is installed and the headlights came on when the battery was connected although they were a little bit dim. Getting back at it again.
I bought new tires for my car and to my surprise Discount Tire actually had the 13'' tires except they sold me trailer tires. Now I can roll it in & out of the garage and onto the car hauler. Im going to upgrade the wheels when I do the brake kit.
