    Removing hard headliner 75 duster.

I got it from year one. It's a plastic liner with a cloth cover. They sell them without the cover also. They have to be trimmed to fit properly and the holes for the sun visors were an inch too far inward from where they should have been. It was a pain in the butt to get it installed properly...

    Removing hard headliner 75 duster.

I had problems with getting my new one to fit also. Didn't have much choice though. It had to be done.

    Removing hard headliner 75 duster.

You could give that a try. They do make repros in case you screw it up. The new ones are made out of plastic so they don't fall apart as easily. They are not exactly cheap though so if you can save your original one it would be better.

    Removing hard headliner 75 duster.

The hard headliners are just held up by the trim pieces and the dome light, sun visors, rear view mirror, etc... Other than that they are just there. No bows, glue or anything. Just remove a bunch of screws and it will come right out. The problem is that the old liners become very brittle with...

    Help... Vin #'s dont match

Having a rebodied car might not be a problem if all the guy wants to do is drive it himself, but he would have problems if he ever decided to resell it. Not only that, but what if some other thieving turd steals it and removes the VIN? How would he prove that the car belonged to him if the...

Wiped Cam Lobe Theory - Imput Wanted:

Cam lobes are usually wiped during the initial start up of the engine because they weren't lubed and broken in properly. On A engines the lobe that gets destroyed the most is the one at the very back of the engine because there is no oil drain hole directly over it so it relies almost entirely...

    Help... Vin #'s dont match

I would like to see pics of the numbers also. People did have a bad habit of "rebodying" cars back in the old days but you never know. I once had a challenger with numbers on the rear that didn't match but after stripping the paint off I found out that the rear of the car had been smashed and...

Brazilian Dodge Dart 76 (similar to 69 usa)

I just now found this thread. I have no idea how I missed it all these years. (must have been asleep or something.) This thread is awesome!! I'm reading everything from the very beginning. I love the way you make a lot of your own parts and tools too. You are giving me some ideas for...

    help needed

If the 71 has an 8.75 rear end you should definitely keep that. It's much better than the one in the 75. If you need to change it to the larger bolt pattern you could just get new axles for it, or have the ones in it drilled for the larger bolt pattern. On the front suspension and steering I...

Any Body ever see this Mopar engine

That's the Westlake Indy engine the Rod Shop raced in a Dodge Colt in the early 70s. It "disappeared" several decades ago and was found a couple of years ago crated up in a warehouse. It was listed for sale on Ebay and Racingjunk for a while. Don't know if it ever sold or not. Here are a couple...

    it went " poof" !!

I was visiting my parents out at their little farm and left my windows rolled down over night. Started my car up the next morning and drove about 30 miles to the next town. I was sitting at a busy intersection when all hell broke loose behind me! Wings were flapping, feathers were flying and...

    Damsel in distress

Memike said his engine was a 170 with a manual trans so it should bolt right in.

    Damsel in distress

I wouldn't say that you messed anything up. Anytime you try to start driving a car that has been sitting for a long period of time there are going to be a lot of minor little things wrong with it like leaks and electrical problems and such. Cars have a tendency to deteriorate when they are not...

    Damsel in distress

Yup, battery is dead as I suspected. That's probably why it won't crank over. You need to get the battery charged up and then try to start it. Also the alternator is probably bad (or has a problem with the wiring) since it allowed the battery to die. I am guessing that getting those two things...

    1/4 mile vs 1/8 mile

Sounds like everybody is pretty much in agreement that a car set up for the 1/4 is equally good in the 1/8th. Alrighty. Y'all have me convinced. I'll go ahead and build this car for the 1/4 and run it in both and see what happens. Then I'll decide what to do with the other one. Maybe I'll build...
