  • Very good Don,
Thanks!! I just got my truck back from the shop after a new exhaust, muffler, and catalytic converter. I just can't seem to get the thing to stop bucking between 1000-1500 rpm under load. My accelrator pump is fine, and my Holley 1945 carburetor is new and seems to be working fine. It just seems to be a lean spot, so I guess I need to get an older distributor that has vacuum advance and go to HEI or something to get rid of the lean burn computer on the air cleaner. As simple as this engine is, there should be no reason it shouldn't run good!! What year /6 engine is that you have? Does the distributor have vacuum advance and uses a reluctor and not breaker points?? If so, I am interested in that, and without a doubt the super six setup if that's for sale too. Yeah we live back N. Pifer to Wardensville Grade and then turning onto Fishel Lane from there.... Anyway, have a great day, and I am sure we'll cross paths at some point.
    Take care,
    Christov
OK got an idea of where you are. I haven't been in that area in years. I know N Pifer Rd quite well where it meets up with Wardensville Grade . After we come out of the north side of Star Tannery Rd we turn right then left on Burr Stone then back south on Wardensville Grade.

Yep I know Willie. Haven't been in there in quite awhile though. My youngest son knows his son - went to school with him.

No Super Six stuff from the truck; however, I pulled a slant motor from a car I parted out and it had a Super Six on it. Kept the whole motor as it had been gone through and was pretty healthy sounding while I had it running. I had thought about putting my triple Weber set-up on it as I've got another motor that I'll be using a triple SU set-up on. Yes I get all excitied over multiple carb set-ups on a slant! Don't "think" I'm gonna use the SS6 - let me think on it.
